  • Closing this week.

According to Resort title, the closing on my points is set for the 19th. I ave a few questions for those of you with all the knowledge.

    1) How long from this date until Bluegreen will recognize me as account owner?

    2) I have a RCI account already, does this account become linked with bluegreen, or will I need a new seperate account with them?

    3) My current timeshare wants about 3000 dollars to convert to RCI points, not worth it to me. Is there any cheaper way to use RCI points now that I have a Bluegreen account. IE, can I use PFD with any of there locations.

4)The account I bought is 11,000 annual points, anniversary of Dec 1. It has 11,000 points that will expire on Dec 1. I have no way to use them in that short time. Suggestions? My only thought is to try and deposit with RCI, not sure that works on such short notice though.

    5) Finally, I have no experience with II, is it worth joining? I know some of Bluegreens locations are listed as being with II. I am also considering SFX, DAE. SFX already said I could deposit my current timeshare with them.

Sorry, I just saw this post. I've been busy and travelling. So, I hope you get these answers.

    1) It takes about a week for points to become available to you after closing. If it takes longer than a week, it is more than likely that they simply did not put your telephone number in your account. Just call the Bluegreen reservation line and have them look for your points by your address or names or deeded week and unit number.

    2) You either get a new RCI account if you don't have one already. or, your current RCI account gets updated with your Bluegreen ownership. There is a special RCI line for Bluegreen owners. However, they really don't know much about Bluegreen. All it is is a different toll free number. The same agents appear to answer the phone.

    3) Yes, you can find good RCI points accounts on eBay or at www.austimeshare.com

    4) I would book a couple of weeks and deposit them with RCI. They will only be good for reservations less than 45-days from checkin. But, that's better than nothing.

    5) Bluegreen will exchange with II, SFX and DAE. It's great for DAE since you can deposit a winter studio at Big Cedar for 2000 points. I prefer II to RCI, so I believe it is worth joining. I haven't used SFX with Bluegreen, but there are a lot of resorts that they will take.

Welcome and please continue to post your questions here.

Thanks for the answers. I got a week deposited with RCI. I'm still evaluating all my other options. Thanks for all the help on this great site.
