  • Cancel, Rent or Deposit?

    I have a Big Cedar 1br lodge reserved for 05/26/07-06/02/07 (that's
the week of Memorial Day) that we are not going to be able to use.

    What's my best course?

    1. Just cancel and be done with it?

    2. Try to rent it? And, if so, what should I use?

    3. Deposit with RCI. Do you think there is any possibility if I
deposited it this week, that I could pull something decent with it for
Kauai for end of March/beginning of April?

    Thanks for any ideas.

What happens if you cancel your ressie? Can you get a prime summer week of 07 instead, if your resort still has some left? It would probably be a tiger trader if it's a July week, or first two weeks of August, right? That would give you more trade power for getting the Hawaii exchange you're seeking. Just a thought, hope others will weigh in too. Good luck to ya!

Seems late for an RCI deposit. If you want a Hawaii trade, why not see if Hawaii TimeShare Exchange will take your week? www.htse.net

        Donna,

I would put it up for rent. Are you a silver member? If so, then there is no penalty for cancelling if you want to do that later. So, I would do a request first with an exchange company that will do that for you like II. This way, you will have both a potential rental and a potential exchange going at the same time.

          II

Boca...yes, silver.....so no penalty for cancelling....

I have done one exchange with HTSE and am happy with that...the reason I was wondering about depositing with RCI is that I saw an extra vacation today for the time frame I would like and was wondering if they would match you up with that.

I am not a member of II....what do I have to do to become one?....

Where should I try to rent it? I'm not too technically inclined to get all the photos and such in an ad like others do...As a matter of fact, I am rather challenged.

Send me an email and I'll help you put it up for rent.

I will give you 10,000 points if you can get RCI to give you an Extra Vacation for Hawaii as an exchange
