  • New Online features for managing points

Bluegreen finally made it a bit easier to manage your points if you have a lot of accounts.

For those of us with more than 50000 points, it had become a management nightmare to manage where your points are. For instance, if you book a reservation, you need to pick the account where the reservation will reside and then which accounts you want to pull points from. If you didn't manage these transactions very closely, you could have points expire on you. Severe pain.

Now, Bluegreen has added a feature in your online account to tell you how many points you have in each account. It is under the "My Account" tab.

There used to be on 2 sections in this area of the online site. The first is "Contact Information." This is where your 6 digit "Owner Number" is located. This is the master number that Bluegreen established to identify you.

The second is "Account Information." This is the section that tells you what deeded week and unit numbers you own under your 6 digit owner number. These are called "Accounts".

The above have been online for a while. I use it to know when a unit has been transferred into my name.

The new third section of the "My account" tab is called "My Points." This is the section that tells you how many points you have in each account that can be used for booking, the next earn date for when you will be granted new points and the number of points that will be granted. This section will be key in helping you to manage your points.

Slowly, but surely, the Bluegreen Online website is getting to where it needs to be.

    Next stop: Full online reservations....

That sounds like a pretty cool feature but may I suggest that you don' t just rely on the developer? The people that run the wmowner forum developed a WorldMark Credit Manager that we can keep on our desktop and use to keep track of our points. Take a look at it, you may be able to get them to help you develop something similar for BG owners.

I can tell you from experience that I am very happy that I am keeping track aside from what I can see online. As you know, TW came up with a reshuffling of credits that does benefit us but it caused credits to disappear for some of us and without the credit manager we might not have a way to prove that our credits disappeared wrongfully.

    Just a suggestion!

I use the WM credit manager to manage my BG accounts. It works pretty slick once you adapt it to your accounts. I have 3 different BG accounts + a UDI so I have nowhere near the headaches Boca has, but it still is nice to keep track of what you've reserved, rented, contact name of renter, etc. for as far back as you want to save them.

It is nice to have the BG online contracts listed just to instantaneously verify where your points are and to make sure the CS rep pulls them from the right account when making a reservation. Thanks Boca for pointing this out!

        Thanks for the heads up

I suggest everyone check their accounts. When I checked mine, it showed one of my accounts did not earn points again until the year 2010. Glad to be able to straighten this out with a call to Bluegreen...By all means, call them, don't email. I never get any satisfaction from an email. They just send me one of those canned responses, like to use RCI or some nonsense. With a phone call to the preferred line, you can get instant gratification!

        Thanks boca etal

One of mine was 2009. Called and corrected.

My account is the single most complex one in all of Bluegreen. I have a copy of the WM credit manager which was rendered useless with the new FIFO credit shufflling process they sometimes use now.

The problem is that some reservation people do not book the reservation the way I ask. And so, they either book the reservation on the wrong account or they pull points from the wrong account. With this online functionality, I can double check their bookings real time.

Unfortunately, they don't tell you when the points expire. One could have borrowed points, regular points, rollover points, and AIM points. Right now I have three different expiration dates. It appears that they just dump the AIM points into one of the accounts.

In any event, the information is still quite useful. Thanks Jim for alerting us to this. Can I "plagiarize" your original post and followup and put it on the Yahoo site? Or do you want to?

                Charles,

Of course you can put in on the Bluegreen Yahoo Forum. Please do. It will save me time.

Could someone please explain what AIM points are? This is the second time today they have been mentioned.
                  Thanks

                    Cathy,
When I upgraded with Bluegreen, they gave me access to the AIM program. I don't know if they give it to brand new purchasers. And I am sure that those who purchase resale will not get into the AIM program, but I could be wrong.

The AIM program allows you to convert a non-Bluegreen Timeshare into Bluegreen Points. I believe the timeshare has to be gold or silver crown or 5 star. You must give it to Bluegreen at least one year before its use time. The number of points you get is a function of the rating and the number of bedrooms. Also, the points expire in one year and do not rollover. There is a $50 charge each time you do it. I do not know if it can be used for high red or leaf time.
