  • What's Up???

A family friend came home from a Bluegreen presentation at the Fountains to tell us he just bought 30,000 annual points for $4,500. How can this be, or is he unaware of what he really has? I've been thrilled to buy for 40 cents a point through resale only to hear that BG is selling for 15 cents.

Slight correction of my previous post. The 30,000 timeshare actually cost $28,500, but the maintenance fee is supposedly $450. Still sounds pretty good. I know what info I'll be taking to any future updates I attend while on vacation at a BG property.

Sounds more like a bi-annual, not an annual, contract to me. The MF on a 30,000 point package at the best MF rate would be $1,100. The bi-annual MF would be $550, which is closer to the $450 you mentioned.

I'd read the contract before I got too excited.

Do they offer 30,000 EOY packages? I see them for far less than that, but not that big in an every other year configuration.

So why do you both think that is a good deal? Is there a difference in service/product buying from the developer as opposed to paying 40 cents per point on ebay?

There is something wrong with this deal as stated. There is no way that the maintenance fees for 30000 points is only $450. If they bought from the developer at The Fountains, then 30000 annual points is $1100.

It is more likely that they bought 30000 every other year points. Even then, the annual maintenance fees would be $695.

Boca, wouldn't the best advice be to RESCIND? I saw an incredible points package on www.vacationtimesharerentals.com that was much cheaper per point than what this person paid.

If there are advantages of owning points through Bluegreen, what are they? I understood there were no benefits a few months ago. Has that changed?
