Can anyone who has stayed here elaborate on this resort and the surrounding area? Things to do? It looks like it would be an easy drive from my location but we have never been there.

Players Club is near Coligny Circle. It's not in one of the "plantations" but in the area of HHI just before the Sea Pines gates. It's about a 10 min walk to good beach. The timeshare itself is a converted motel...nothing fancy...but well maintained and managed. If you stay there you'll have access to a championship tennis complex and a huge indoor pool and exercise room. I love that area because you can walk easily to good restaurants and shops and even a movie theatre."Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed and those who are cold and are not clothed."

Carol C is correct. do not expect too much, it is basically two motel buildings. there are two other motel buildings run by a different company and access to a large building with a pool and workout rooms. this pool is more designed for workouts than lounging around, I don't believe there were chairs around it to any extent. Also, no facilities in the building you are in and not really any activities. I was told in December by Pearl Green that it was not going to be a Bluegreen rsort anymore, but I have had no confirmation of that.

Not being in the Bg network anymore is news to me. This is worth checking out since we would not otherwise have any HHI resort. Unless, BG is buying another that's better?!?!

I do agree that there are truly great resorts in HHI and that this isn't one of them, but, going there or not depends on OP's priorities.

I certainly did not mean to offend you, but wanted to make sure that the OP understood that it could 'cost' more points and certainly money to reserve another resort. If he's just looking for a long weekend passing thru, Players Club might be just fine and not worth booking an entire week using more points and paying an exchange fee.
I agreed with your assessment of Players Club as compared with other HHI resorts.

My family still remembers staying in motel rooms so anything beyond that is good for us! I'm sure I will be spoiled soon enough and be looking for other avenues of usage.
Thanks

This leads me to another question. What happens when a points package is attached to a unit/week that reaches it's duration in the plan? The POS says that the plan may be extended for one or more additional periods. I guess if it doesn't it will convert back to the fixed week which would not be very good (to me anyway). Some BG resorts are Perpetual and one expires as early as the year 2018 (MountainLoft) and some others by a certain number of years. The year 2018 is not really that far away and there are other resorts that follow not too far beyond that.
Any insight?

No offense taken. One thing that I really love about this group is that people are not afraid to say what's on their mind. If BG is no longer affiliating with Players Club, that's news to me too, but I can see why. I love BG, and their standards are not luxurious, but always safe, clean, and family-oriented. I've been to many BG resorts...not all, but a lot. Players Club is the only one that I've personally seen that I would not be happy to take my family to.
Just my opinion, and that's all I was trying to say. The OP didn't mention money or points, and frankly, I wouldn't stay at PC if it were free. Again, ONLY my humble opinion. HH is SUCH a great place...I hope that BG either fixes up PC to their standards or acquires or affiliates with one of the many wonderful resorts there soon.
No worries.

I was only reporting what Pearl Green (PInnacle) told me. When we were there, the manager told us that they didn't sell vacation club there, however, that can't be true if they have 194 units. that would be equivalent to 4 units all year round, or lots of units during prime weeks, or lots of units during off season. l I posted this on the Bluegreen Board, but no one ever responded to it.

My guess is that if a timeshare period expires that the underlying deed is removed from the club as is the points associated with it. However, I doubt that Bluegreen will leave the owner without points. That would lead to a very bad PR problem. I'll bet that Bluegreen will offer the owner replacement points deeded at another resort. After all, at resorts like Pono Kai where they were once an RTU, the resort developer has the ability to buy out the leasehold and turn it into fee simple property. That money must come out of the general Trust fund and not from the individual owners. But, that's only my guess. I wonder what happens to La Cabana? Aren't all Caribbean resorts RTUs?
