Has anyone stayed at SeaGlass tower as of yet?

If so, can you please share your experience?

    HOw is the location?
    What are the units like?
    How is the furniture?
    Any pictures to share?

We have reservations in late June.

    Thanks - Mary

I have never been, but would like to learn about your experience. We are considering booking there for next summer.
Thanks to my sister, we own a leg lamp.

We also have reservations in June starting the 23rd. I haven't been able to find anything out about it since it's remodel. We've been going to Myrtle Beach for many years, but had never stayed at the Yachtsman. Had some friends stay there and they said the rooms were small(when it was still the Yachtsman). We stayed at Lodge Alley last year(July) and drove up to take a look, but couldn't get in. I guess we'll find out in about a month!

It is well booked, if that means anything..............which it probably doesn't since everybody will be first-timers. I have tried to get a couple of days to take the grandkids and could not get any bonus time in June at all. Maybe it will be super nice.

So now what are your thoughts on Seaglass?

We jsut got back from Seaglass tower.

I am curious what anyone else thought of it.

We had a one bedroom with a balcony facing on the side.

We also just returned. We were in an oceanfront unit with glass walls on two sides (one facing the ocean and one facing north looking up the beach. The windows are essentially floor to ceiling and corner to corner. The view and effect is fantastic. The unit is small. It was just the two of us and we ran into each other quite often when cooking or dressing.

Would I return. At the drop of a hat. It is the best view I have had from any BG resort. I could be making salads in the kitchen and still be enjoying the whole beach scene.

Guess that just goes to show the difference a unit's location can make.

We had a middle of the building unit, with a balcony that over looked the parking lot to the right ( if you are standing in the road facing the beach)

I would not choose this resort again, as our unit was noisy at night with all the street noise and with the bar accross the street, there were things my 10yr old shouldn't see as of yet.

We had a regular 1 bedroom for the 3 of us, and it was crowded. We had to fold the pullout up as soon as she got out or we couldn't make it to the table or the balacony.

The glass was a neat effect, but i didn't like it beside my bed and the fact that you could see all the way into the bathroom from the Yachtsman next door.

Being on the beach was great though. Nice beach.

We visited the Carolina Grande, those units are much bigger and better laid out, even their one bedroom room. The drawback is that the resort is accross the street from the beach. The good thing is that the best western on the beach has a pool, lazy river that BG can use. The pool at the CG is on the 6th floor. you can see the ocean from the pool, that is neat.

I hear the N.Myrtle Beach is much more family friendly, which is where Shorecrest I & II are.

                Get a higher floor

We were on the 18th floor and did not hear any street noise. Of course we did not hear the surf either. If you are above about the 10th floor (I am guessing) the Yachtsman is below you. (Their roof is ugly.)

I think the beach at Shore Crest is better. It is much wider and the tidal changes are more dramatic (appreciated by a Midwesterner). At Shore Crest you do not have people walking by, loitering, etc. However, it is about a half mile or so to the nearest restaurant.

The units at the Carolina Grande are indeed nicer. But the beach is too far away for us. We drive 1200 miles one way for the beach. The units at Christmas Mountain (90 miles away) are actually more pleasing to us. So, no beach, no SC. (If you spend the day actually sitting on the beach or swimming in the ocean, then it wouldn't matter.)

I totally agree with Charles. I'm not road-tripping all the way from Indiana to then have to drive to a beach. I want to exit the resort barefoot and find sand.

I do like that BG is increasing the MB units, tho.

Just so no one is confused, you don't have to drive to the beach from the Carolina Grande. The beach is across the street and on the other side of many other beach front resorts. Unfortunately, traffic is heavy on the street.

We have 2 nights booked at Sea Glass in August. We will be on the 7th floor in an ocean view room with 2 small children. I hope that we will enjoy the experience. Any suggestions?

Shorecrest I is my favorite. I'd like to try Seaglass Tower given it's location on the beach.

                              Sea Glass ideas

Greenwagonmom: you will love it with 2 little girls. The beach is nice and right at your doorstep.

My only suggestion is that if you walk the street do it early with the kids. Later at night it gets intersting on the street.

Also Sea Glass is right at Pier 14, that is a restaurant that is suppose to be really good. We didn't have a chance to try it, but I have read it is good. They do breakfast lunch and dinner.

The traffic in MB is crazy downtown. YOu won't want to leave much. It is also best to get your food before you arrive. there is a Publix close by. You could walk, but it is a bit of a hike back with groceries.

What size room to do you have?

I can send you a few pictures if you wish. You can send me a personal em and I can then send them to you.
