2 Night, 3 Day Offer

I was called by Blue Green yesterday and offered this 2 night, 3 day deal. I think their 3 days are really about a day and a half. Anyway, for doing this for $59, they say will give us 2 round trip plane tickets to Orlando or Las Vegas with a 2 night hotel stay for free. Sounds a little fishey, anyone else ever use this? Legit?

We did this in 1998 but then it was free. They met the letter of the offer. But the only flights available for "free" got us in late the first day and out early the third day so we only got one day to do anything. The motel was a dump (not at all like BG resorts). The agency booking the trip tried all sorts of techniques to get us to upgrade or cancel. But we didn't. We got our free trip and enjoyed our one day in Orlando.

These deals are only fair at best. They give you a really run down motel to stay in for two. That's part of the "sales presentation." They show you the rack rates for the dump you are in and try to sell you on how "for the same money" you can have this wonderful 2 bedroom suite.

The airfares usually don't include airport taxes which they claim to be around $100-200 per ticket. This is in general, not sure what Bluegreen does since I haven't been on one of their mini-vacations.

A better thing to do is to rent a unit from an owner and attend a sales presentation while getting a free gift for attending that partially pays for the rental. Then, you can decide if Bluegreen is for you. If that is of interest to you, send me a PM.

Sounds almost too good to be true? It is, as Bocca says, carefully crafted for a sales presentation and at the least expense possible.
