Any ideas of how hard to book- and does anyone know how busy disneyworld would be then? thanks for any information.

We've spent the last two Thanksgivings at Walt Disney World. We arrive the Saturday before and leave on the Friday after. The parks are relatively peaceful until Tuesday. Then Wednesday gets busier, and Thanksgiving Day is pretty packed, but manageable. The holiday decorations are nice and it is a fun time to be there . The weather is also very pleasant.

We bought the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World before planning a trip for 13 people to WDW in 2005. You can also visit the disboards and search for 'Thanksgiving crowds.' You'll find a lot of people asking the same question.

There are probably a lot of rentals available at that time of year. I'm not sure about exchanges, though.

We were at Orlando during Thanksgiving week in 2005. The parks are not crowded before Thanksgiving day. It gets busy starting Thanksgiving day. The weather can be a bit iffy ... rains in the morning and in the afternoon sporadically...

Hey kapish, we could have run into each other !

Where did you stay? We were at the Beach Club Villas and my sisters and Dad were at the HGVC International Drive.

Turns out, we were at Star Island Resort in Kissimmee... and not at a DVC property

Well, hey, Thanksgiving in Orlando was fun, right? We had so much fun, we went in 2006, too. It's a festive time to be at the parks.

kapish is right about the weather. In 2005 it was shorts and sweatshirts, and rain ponchos during downpours. In 2006, it was in the 60s during the day, and we wore three layers of clothes (because we packed for warmer weather). Others were wearing ski jackets!

We're going again in 2008...we'll have to pack for any kind of weather.

Orlando is pretty easy to get for Thanksgiving. It's a great time of year to go. Get a Saturday check in. The crowds are greatest on the weekend of Thanksgiving.

I have the next two Thanksgivings booked

This year we will be at Orange Lake...we will be at the Summer Bay Houses in 2008 thanks to Lawren and Angie!

Thanksgiving is our favorite time to travel, and we always go Sat-Sat too to avoid the insanity.

Those sightings are wonderful and so appreciated! Angela and Lawren work hard to get those posted.

We love Orlando and have never gone during Thanksgiving, but if we could get the kids to go at the same time, it could be a blast.

I subscribe to touringplans.com and here are his recommendations for parks during the weeks before and just after Thanksgiving. The number in the 3rd column is the crowd level in the parks in general, with the worst crowds being a "10"

                      Bluegreen Points for Disney

I would like to stay "on property" at Disney--can I trade my Bluegreen points for that? I looked on RCI and no "Disney" properties on there. Does anyone know a way to stay at the Disney timeshares?

If you are trying to exchange you will have to use II to exchange. Otherwise, you can rent a unit from a DVC owner or perhaps even do a direct exchange between owners.

I have successfully traded a Summer Christmas Mountain Village 2 br summer week for a 2br DVC. So, I know it's possible. CMV is dually affiliated with RCI and II.

                            That's cool

So, do Bluegreen people pay extra to exchange with II? How's that work? We just bought Bluegreen and I'm new to all this.
