  • Converting Weeks to Points

I have seen some Mountain Loft in Gatlinburg timeshares offered for resale that are fixed weeks, not points. If I buy at Mountain Loft, I prefer points over weeks.

How much does it cost to convert a fixed week deed to points?

How do you determine how many points you get for a certain fixed week? One I am looking at is a 2BR/2BA Week 13.

    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks.

Bluegreen charges about $2000 to convert a fixed week when they offer that program. That method isn't worth the effort.

But, if you have lots of fixed weeks, you can do an equity trade in for a minimum purchase of 3000 points from the developer.

Unless you want to purchase a lot of points, it may be more cost effective to buy points that are already converted.

The point value for the week you convert is equal to the point value it would take to book it.

A sleep 6 unit, 2br/2ba unit is worth 9000 points. A sleep 8, 2br/2ba lockout unit is worth 13000 points.

Thanks for the feedback. What do you think a fair resale price would be for a sleeps 6 unit? The craigslist ad is asking for $1400. What are approximate maintenance fees (ad does not list them)? How hard is it to trade this week 13 unit for a non holiday July week? I am just starting to look, so I will probably have more questions. It looks like I might need to look for a points based unit though instead of this one.
