which locale in Florida?

We are trying to plan a trip to see a grandparent next June, 2008. Still figuring out when all the kids will be available. We need to choose a resort either in Orlando or Daytona as this is closest to New Smyrna Beach where Grandparent is. The kids are 16-21.
Any good suggestions?

We stayed at The Fountains March 07. Very nice place. Indoor/outdoor pool. If you look at the BG website, you can see the pool is inside and goes outside. Kids love it. BG is adding a new waterpark section to the property. Not sure of the completion date. Fountains is also very close to Disney property or 'The Mouse' as a friend calls it. If you stay at The Fountains, ask to stay in 'the old buildings' facing the pond. Best view, you can see fireworks at night from another park.

I hated Orlando drivers, turn signal were an option that didn't come on Fl cars, but liked The Fountains.

Last Christmas we stayed at Daytona SeaBreeze and enjoyed our stay. We have reservations to return the week after Christmas this year. We also booked a couple of nights at the Orlando Sunshine resort where we haven't stayed before, but it is close to Universal Studios. My sister lives in Orlando, so we like to stay on the beach for part of our Florida vacations. The drive from Daytona to Orlando isn't bad so long as you avoid rush hour. As for the bad drivers in Orlando, locals blame all of the tourists in rental cars.
