Voluntary ARDA contribution

I'm not familiar with this PAC. Is this a worthy contribution? $5.00 is not much if they are an effective group. The following was taken from the Bluegreen website:

For example, ARDA ROC PAC has been successful from protecting owners from:

Attempts to limit or eliminate the second home mortgage/timeshare deduction
Attempts to impose state sales taxes on timeshares
Attempts to tax owners of timeshares as transient occupants (i.e. hotel guests)

I don't plan to ever take a second mortgage to pay for a timeshare but the latter two would be enough for me to make a $5.00 contribution if this is legit.

At first I was hesitant to make the contribution just because of the large increase in fees but I'm having second thoughts.

Anybody care to share your thoughts?

ARDA is a resort developers' organization that has their own interests at heart and not those of existing timeshare owners. I never pay the voluntary contribution which is now $ 5 and was previously $ 3. I think the developers should support their own group and any contributions anyone wants to make for timesharing interests would better be directed right here to our site.

I would be happy if there is a very clear item what they try to use the money for and it can easily be measure, instead of something like for the good of TS. ARDA is existing because of the developers, and sometimes, their goal is totally different then me.

Also, I will be happy if this runs a very effective. Somehow, I don't feel that way.

ARDA has a different agenda than that of timeshare owners.

I have not ever paid that fee and will not do so in the future.
