  • Shore Crest I and II question

Hi everyone - I am thinking about buying a high point package tied to a week at Shore Crest II. The current owner never used this resort and is nto able to answer my question.
When I go to make my annual reservation will I be limited to II or can I also reserve I with equal priority as an owner?
    Thanks!

If it's a point package, then you are probably getting around 15000 annual points. You can use those points to book any Bluegreen Resort and deposit it with the exchange company that that resort is affiliated with.

For example, you can book your points at Lodge Alley Inn and deposit that week with II. You can book a Hammock's at Marathon Week and deposit that with RCI.

      Shore Crest

Oops - I think I misstated my question.

If I am buying an 18k package at Shore Crest II, unit X, I was wondering if at the 12 month window I could request Shore Crest I. However, as I read more posts on this board (and thank you so much for all of this work!) I think you answered my question several months ago for someone else. I can book my own unit that far in advance, but after that it's off to the races - competing with everyone else for either another week at Shore Crest I or any week in Shore Crest II.

      Am I getting warm?

That is correct. But, Gold and Silver preferred owners who get on the waitlist will have a leg up on you for any reservation except for your priority week.

From my own experience, anytime you are able to get Shorecrest 1, Ocean front, do it. I have never seen the view of the marsh, other than when driving by, but the ocean front is very nice.

              View or Beach Access?

If you want the great ocean view that Shorecrest I offers, then it doesn't matter where you buy (unless you buy the week you want at Shore Crest I (and some people get lucky and find it for sale). You will compete with me. If you only want beach access (and I have seen many people get to the beach early and stay late), then if the week is right on the unit for sale, the Shore Crest II will deliver since it is just across the street from Shore Crest I and the street isn't that busy. Also, Shore Crest II's pool and lazy river get the afternoon sun while at Shore Crest I it will be in the shade (but get the morning sun).

Never knew that II had a pool. Guess I need to get across the street sometime.

I realize no one cares but me, but if the beach is empty, that beach is the best place for flying a stunt kite. Great breeze all the time. Next trip, I am bringing the 2 line and the four line kites.

You can see the pool at SCII using YAHOO Maps. You can't see the pool at SCII using MapQuest. YAHOO seems to be using older images since the trailer park has trailers while in MapQuest it is empty (or was it just built?? hmmm.)

Thanks to all of you. This is all very helpful. For the past month I have been taking a self-styled crash course "Timeshare 101" using the collective wisdom/opinion/?? of everyone on the various timeshare boards.

                      A lot to learn......

Interesting. Thanks for the link to

                        Live Local Search

Each one uses different photos taken on different days and at different times of day. I can clearly see the pool at SCI and I think I can see the lazy river at SCI. The lazy river at SCII is in the shadow and I can't see it. I think I can see the pool at SCII but don't know if I would have found it if I didn't know where it was.

                          Good view of SCII pool

                          I tried

                          Google Maps

and you can clearly see both pools and the SCII lazy river. It's hard to see the lazy river in SCI. I was real impressed until I looked at our house on Google and you couldn't even see it. Might be a good agricultural map but not for residences.

The pool across the street is small, but less crowded that the one by the beach. The lazy river is basic, but fun. Our experience (we stayed there three years ago) was that the beach was not crowded. We had "marsh view" which is basically no view. We spent all of our time outside anyway, so it mattered not.

SC I is more in demand and a better exchange resort than SC II because all the rooms are ocean front.
