  • 3 day 2 night package questions

I am going to las vegas for the 3 day 2 night package, me and my mom planned to go to las vegas anyway and the 49 dollar price plus 50 dollar gift card allowed us to be able to afford a couple of extra nights at the Bellagio after our 2 nights. A couple questions:

I know I won't be able to afford a timeshare now, but am interested in the future. Mainly going for information. Should I be upfront about this with the salesperson or act like I am going to buy?

Is the presentation easy to leave after the 120 minute time? (I have heard horror stories of 5 hour presentations)

Is it possible for me to know my hotel before I go? They just say preferred partner hotel.

    Thanks

Good for you for taking advantage of something you can use.

The tips for attending the presentation:
    Say NO
    Say NO
    Say NO

Honestly, hang out here and read. You'll learn so much and be educated when the time comes to buy - which is not at that presentation. It is MUCH more expensive to buy at one of these presentations than when buying resale. My first timeshare was purchased on eBay. I paid $600. The original owner bought and originally had a mortgage of over $8000! Who got the better deal? It's the same timeshare and the same availability.

It's hard to tell what kind of sales person you'll get. Some are extremely skilled and some are lousy. But, keep in mind, they have a lot more experience than you do and they have training to make everything sound unbelievably good. Timesharing is great for many people, but you don't need to pay thousands extra for the opportunity.

People have said that they let the sales people know that they read Timeshare Forums and TUG, Timeshare User's Group, Timeshare Users Group - Timeshare Owners Helping Each other, Unbiased Timeshare Information for All Owners, Buy Sell Rent Timeshare. It lets the sales people know that you know more than the average person coming to the presentation. It may worry them a little, and it may shorten your time there - or it may not. They may also attack what you know from reading and learning here. But just be strong and say NO.

Then come back to this board and read more and ask questions.

Good luck and have a great vacation!

    Sue
