  • Sell and Rebuy

Okay, I want to dump my timeshare and buy more points dirt cheap...

who should I use and what should I ask for?

I am a Bluegreen owner with 8000 bi-annual(even) with fees and mortgage already paid. I don't expect to make a buck, but want to make some back and hope to sell in the next 60 days. I have been told to list for $3999 to $9999. What do you think?

I will look to buy later. Is Ebay really a good choice?

    Thanks

Good thinking, but there are some gotchas.

First of all, that strategy is very bad if you want to keep Bonus Time benefits or if you want to ensure that accounts will combine properly. That will take working with an authorized reseller.

Given where ebay prices are today, you will be lucky to net around $1000 in a sale.

Then, to get back Bonus time, you need to buy a package that is around $.50-.60/point plus closing and fees.

It may be cheaper for you simply to addon points to what you own. You would retain bonus time. And you could get a combined account if you own and you buy the right types of packages. That requires some expertise to identify and verify combine potential.

If you are interested in investigating options, let me know in a private message and I'll be willing to help you understand your options in more detail.

Jim's advice is good. Don't forget that there is a fee attached each time something is sold so that cut's down what the buyer of your EOY points will pay. Also, EOY's are not in great demand. Do you want to sell your EOY dirt, dirt cheap? I would think not.

        Sell Buy

So my question is, how much should I list for and who with? I don't know enough of what I am doing to go on ebay(I think).

The goal is to buy more points...I just don't want to pay two sets of maintance fees if I were to own two places. Can I add points for as cheap as some are being sold? Like currently on Ebay, there is 16,000 points a year for "Buy it now" $7500. Even that looks inviting.

If I were to purchase this today, would I be responsible for two sets of maintance fees and club dues?

I like what we have, but not enough points to stay weekends in our trips.

        What is my wise choice?

Wise choice is to send PM to Boca. He is very experienced in Bluegreen and will not steer you wrong.

If you are buying additional points, you will be able to get maint. fees combined, likely to a lower rate. Again, Boca has more information about that.

Yeah, there would not be 2 club dues and combined contracts can end up saving $$ on maint.

If you are really wanting to sell, I don't believe you could get more than $2000. And as was pointing out, there are closing costs and transfer fees, etc. Why go thru that if what you really want is MORE points??

Plus, Jim's dead on - do NOT give up your original contract as it entitles you to valuable benefits.

Do yourself a favor and talk to Jim.

I also have 8000 every 2 years. My wife and I love BigCedar, but we are having some financial issues, and need to sale our points. Please contact me if you would be interested in purchasing ours at a good fair price. That would put you at 16,000 and you could convert to use every year, or just borrow against future years. Anyway, contact me and lets talk.

If not then you will have two earn dates and two MF'S and one club due. Hope this helps, It is better to upgrade they sell you ownership and start all over.

I am glad you like your product enough to buy it. I have met a number of sales reps who do not and really do not understand the ins and outs of owning. Your ownership will make you a better salesperson. Your participation in groups such as this will help you learn more and help us learn more. So I am pleased that you are here. Some may not, but I am. If someone really bad mouthes BG, it means that some BG employee has messed up (and we all mess up from time to time) and something has to be fixed. Having BG employees hear might help it get fixed.

That being said, each time information is given from one person to another, the receiver of the information has to process it. Each time it is processed, little errors can slip in or not all of the information is passed along. Perhaps Jim could point out the specific factor that there is disagreement on.

I am guessing it is on the "combining" of various contracts to get a new contract. When I combined my previous contracts, one was EOY and the rest were annual. There was three different resorts involved in the previous contracts. One contract was for a "flex" week and the rest were "points". I don't know if there could have been a worse Mulligan Stew but they were all combined with a smile. Of course, all the units in my "new" contract were at one resort.

I suggest you learn your product better. I am suprized that you said the things you did as a owner. For you to blame your trainers for the incorrect information certainly does not help your creditability and does not speak well of your professionism.

If your traniers are that inept then if you are a owner then call the Bluegreen guides and learn your product and craft so you do not give out incorrect misleading foolish answers like you did in your first posts.

IMHO you sound very inexperianced newbie in your first posts or if you are not a newbie then it sounds likeyou like to blow salespersons smoke. These types of sites are the wrong place to try and do that.

I am pretty sure that some owners on these sites control more reservations per year than you have sold.

"I had to get these things off of my chest"
