Does anyone have some recent pics of the The Fountains resort?

I hear they are building a water park. Is it in the resort or is another company building one next to the fountains?

    Thanks - maryk

Well I can tell you what I saw last weekend while I was there.
The Pool area is scheduled to be completed in March I do believe. The pool is rather large, and will have at least 2 water slides from what I could see. I know in another forum I am in there is a picture, but it was taken from far away. Once it is complete, it will be very nice though.

My trip to the Fountains was March 07. No pictures of that area. As I understand, Fountains / BG owns that property and is developing it as part of the Fountains. There will be new buildings and the water area, all part of the Fountains.

I have a picture of the construction taken 12/5/07 from the balcony of the 4th floor, building 5. You can see the water park development in the distance. I can't figure out how to atach a picture here but can email it or you can check in the Fountains file at Bluegreen's yahoo.com group

Below is a direct link that should get you there. If it doesn't work, I can email an attachment to you.

A note about the resort, I think this location has the largest rooms of any BG that I have visited. Master BR with the tub area and bathroom is really nice sized. Light colors, wonderful screened in porch on our unit, guessing they all have that. Loved that porch. After a visit to the mouse, sit in the porch with a cool drink, enjoy the breeze and the scenery. Our unit was one of the old buildings overlooking the lake. Maybe the description is for the old units, the newer buildings may have a different setup. Really liked the Fountains. Didn't know they had a pool room. Guess we spent too much time with the mouse and friends that were staying on Disney property to fully explore the Fountains.

Wish the Orlando drivers would learn to use that little stick on the left side of the steering column. Make my life easier while driving.

            Wakoola Springs - The Fountains

            Hello All!
This is my first post. My fiance just found this site today and directed me here. We just returned from a 3 night trip at the Fountains, March 20-23. The new pool opened on March 17, although they had some problems with several of the pool pumps and it was closed for two of our three days there. The new pool area is HUGE and even with a lot of people there, it never felt crowded. There are two water slides and a little kiddie play area with some water buckets and sprinklers and such. There is a nice snack bar there, two sets of bathrooms, and a new restaurant is scheduled to open some time in April. They are building a huge new building which I am told will have presidential suites in it and a new reception area. The whole area is under construction with many great changes ahead for the Fountains!

Let me say this was our 4th or 5th trip to the Fountains. We live about an hour and a half from there and mostly use bonus time to go, but this time we used points for two nights, and then asked if we could use bonus time for our third night (we had no more points left to use). We thought they were going to charge us for two nights of bonus time (typically it is required at the Fountains to book a MINIMUM of two nights with bonus time, but the staff was very nice and let us book one more night using bonus time! We had a great time! Actually our boys (ages 11-16) liked the old pool better as it has an indoor/outdoor pool area, and we spent more time over at the old pool then the new Wakoola pool.

The rooms at the Fountains are large and adequately equipped. So far, it has been our best BG resort. We have also stayed at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL, and a week last summer at Casa Del Mar in Ormond Beach, FL. I must say, the room we had at Casa Del Mar was as nice as the one at the Fountains. We had a 2 BR, top floor, corner unit with two balconies and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The resort is a little old, but the rooms have been renovated, and are clean and bright. We spent most of our time on the beach anyway. The activities are limited, but they do have some things to enjoy. The Fountains by far has the best activities of any of the 3 BG resorts we have been to. We are going to try to get a week in August in 2009 at Big Cedar and are so looking forward to checking out that resort.

            Thanks!

            Jody
