Family Spring Break, the unofficial opening for all of Branson, this year is March 20th. That is when SDC opens for Family Spring Break, 3/20, 21, 22, 27, & 30. At least that's what their pocket-size schedule says. I don't know why they would not be open Sat., 3/29.

Silver Dollar City Branson MO: Family Adventures Theme Park

I see that is an error. It is open 3/29. That is Young Christian Day, a day the park is very crowded. We were there last year with someone, on the Sunday morning after, and there were a few thousand lined up for multiple worship services in the amphiteater. Those services are quite a production.

I am going to the Central Board to post about RCI Branson resorts.

      JLB,

I am still confused by your conclusion. I traded a Big Cedar studio white week for a Branson two bedroom red week in late June. So I can indeed trade into Branson using my Bluegreen Points. Why didn't I use my Bluegreen Points to go to Falls Village? Cost more than 3 times the points for the Big Cedar studio.

Does your "Slimey Slough Studio" pull 2 bedroom Branson in the summer? If so, maybe it isn't really a "Slimey Slough".

But, then, when it comes to timesharing, money gets wasted every day.

Yeah, the resorts are, in general, above average, and BCWC is as good as it gets just about anywhere. However, through RCI even summer weeks are now available there. (PS: When it comes to BCWC being very nice, that is a statment about Johnny Morris, not about Bluegreen.)

So, again, if Branson is not available through a system, I am wondering just what is?

      Know what I mean?

Through RCI for March, 2008, on very short notice, my Slimey Slough Studio is seeing:

A Total of 23 Resorts were found for CENTRAL U.S./MISSOURI: BRANSON AREA

including all the nice'ns and up to 3 bedroom units at Gold Crowns. There's a selection of golf resorts, in-town resorts, and lake resorts, including:

Before we bought a place at the lake, one thing we did every year, about the time you are searching for, is that we took a family getaway to a resort somewhere in the Ozarks, and they were never hard to come by.

So, I find it strange to see a discussion about any system where this particular trade is hard to come by.

I'm not saying my wife is prettier than yours, so don't get your panties in a bunch, I'm just saying that I'm shocked!

(Speaking of Wisconsin--or thereabouts, aTUGger is down from the frozen tundra up yonder and we had a nice round of golf yesterday--and it isn't even March, yet.)

        Charles,

We probably need to do an apples to apples comparison with JLB.

A July 4th studio unit at BWC is 5000 points. A memorial day studio is 3000 oints. My maintenance fees and taxes per point is $.034.

So, the cost of a BWC studio unit is $102 for memorial day week and $170 for a July 4th week.

We should do a trade test with JLB to see if his unit out trades BWC. And, if so, what the total cost is of the exchange. That will be illuminating.

And, if that wasn't a strong enough trader, we could try other resorts during holiday weeks to see if they would work better for an overall better value.

Or, we could pick a summer Mytle Beach unit, rent it out and then rent the unit we want.

I think that many people do not fully understand how to fully utilize a multi-site, multi-exchange company resort group like Bluegreen.
