Been doing alot of research this weekend, and have a few questions. If someone bought 10k points off ebay, and then bought another 10k from auth broker (pinnacle), could they be combined and upgraded to silver status?

Yes, but the maintenance fees may not combine properly. The eBay purchase needs to be verified by someone who understands how deeds combine.
This could save you money, but it might not either. That's because you have extra closing fees, extra maintenance fee payments, maybe double annual dues payments and last, but not least, smaller packages cost more per point than larger qualified packages. Before you bid, make sure you know how much the upgrade packages are. Do a side-by-side comparsion of the alternatives.
And, there can be a lot of aggravation. For instance, if you purchase from an eBay auctioner who is NOT a licensed real estate broker who doesn't own the package they are selling, they will need to do a double close. Only issue is that a double close can take 6-8 months since Bluegreen requires serial closings. Add the 2-3 months for the upgrade and you miss the maintenance fee window and have extra maintenance fees to pay before all of your packages are upgraded and combined. Some people don't want to wait a year before they can book a Select Connections week or a bonus time reservation.
I have had many people regret trying this approach and have asked me to bail them out. One person even paid me to help them get out of their deal.
On the other hand, I've had others who like the game and like the extra savings. It all depends on what you care about more. Convenience or money. Remember, one mistake could cost you your whole savings.
