  • Bluegreen says NO RCI membership for "resales"???

I bought a resale from a friend and can not get BG to set up an RCI account.
I have talked to EVERY department and supervisor I could, including "asset recovery"
    Who can I call?

    Thanks
    Jerry

I just had a call with Bluegreen owner services yesterday to clear up this issue of RCI accounts for resale owners.

Here is the policy and process regarding RCI accounts.

      1) ALL Bluegreen Points ownerships paying their annual dues of $122.48 per year are entitled to an RCI account at no additional charge. This is true whether or not the new owner purchases from Bluegreen or a Bluegreen authorized reseller. The RCI account is part of your annual dues. Some older ownerships, who pay only $79 plus tax annual dues are excluded since those ownerships pay less since RCI is excluded.

      2) When an account is resold, there are several steps to setting up a new account for an owner. I typically help my clients through all the steps so that something important isn't missed. There are about 5 steps typically. However, occasionally one of the steps is not completed and the right people need to be contacted to correct the situation. RCI account transfer and set up is one of those steps.

      3) In that account set up process, there is an automatic process within Bluegreen that enables the RCI account set up for all customers including resale customers. When that problem occurs, owner services needs to be contacted for assistance in setting up the RCI account. Bluegreen will be sending out an internal memo to Owner Services reps on how to assist new owners in getting RCI account established. However, new reps come on board all the time. Since this activity isn't often handled by owner services, the newbies aren't familiar with it yet.

      4) Given that, the procedure I recommend is to send an email from your online account saying that you need help with your RCI account set up. The people responding to those emails tend to be more up to speed with policy. You can call owner services directly to solve it, but if they don't seem to know what to do, I would just send an email from your online account. It will take a little longer to get an answer, but it is more likely to result in the action you want.

I'm assuming that if you already have an RCI account from original Bluegreen points and add additional points by authorized resale then there is no need for any changes. Correct?

Correct. Whenever you add anything to your account. Bluegreen never takes anything away you already have.

You only lose benefits when you sell the account that carries those benefits.
