I feel bad I logged in because they had a good chat going on but when I saw things were not right with the Chat room I called in for repairs and the upgrade might have caused some member drops.

Tonight's chat was not pre-planned by much. Ron and I had used the chat room one night last week and he suggested we try it again. I posted on our Yahoo group that I would be there at 9:00 tonight and several other members started dropping in. Pat you didn't scare me away, it was just that I had to leave and go wake up my husband so he could respond to a fire alarm. We live in a very small rural area surrounded by National Forest Land. The fire turned out to be quickly controlled. My husband is one of the volunteer firemen. We had a good discussion. Pat if you really want to go to La Cabana next March and you don't want to buy Bluegreen points send me an email and let me know what kind of accommodations you need and when you want them and I'll see what I can do.

No I don't work for Bluegreen. I've been a Bluegreen owner since 98 and have what is the equivalent of 6 weeks of Bluegreen ownership. Not near as much as Bruce or some others. I've recently acquired a minimal amount of Fairfield points 154,000 and I'm just learning how to use them.

Thanks to all who came to chat.

I am doing some 'long term planning' so that is why I was inquiring about Aruba.... La Cabana is not my favorite but I would consider it for a week....we are exploring different ownership possibilities so we can spend 4-5 weeks a year in Aruba in about 7/8 years...I KNOW that isn't around the corner....but I like to plan ahead!

I am in the process of buying Wyndham/FSP myself..... because my other 'wish' is to spend 4-5 weeks in St Thomas in January each year.....

Wish I had known about the chat. Would have been nice to pick up more info. It would have been nice to chat with the people from here too.

But instead, I was dealing with dreaded taxes.

I had to spend a lot of time over the past couple months at the duplex getting it ready for renters. The last tenants picked up their furnature and went out the door leaving about 5 bags of garbage items (shoes, shoe boxes, dirty diapers, plastic plants, kids toys, broke HEAVY TV set) that I had to gather and get rid of one way or another, plus clean the kitchen (ish), repairs to the walls, do the painting, carpet cleaning, etc. I got behind on everything else including the taxes. Did I mention how much I hate getting things ready for taxes? Where is this record? How much did I pay for that? Was this a repair for the duplex and will be for taxes or my home and not for taxes?

Hey I couldn't help but respond with a tip for next year about your taxes. We run a very small business of two cottages that we rent out to hunters and fishermen and families that like to come to the Lake on Vacation. I opened a credit card account called Smith's Vacation Cottages which is the name of our small business. Whenever I buy anything for the cottages, linens, landscaping plants, repair parts, light bulbs, anything, it goes on that credit card. I keep all the credit card bills and sales slips in a separate file folder and if it's a major repair I write on the Lowe's charge slip or Walmart receipt what the repair was. At the end of the year it makes doing the taxes so much easier. Also the trips into town that are dated on those receipts can be counted as miles used toward the business. For us it's a 25 mile trip one way into town. That town by the way is Augusta, Georgia and we live on Lake Thurmond just in case any of you vactioners want to try our little mini resort. I think it would be a good idea to get a planed BG chat set up. Lets see if Bocca wants to run it. If so Jim pick a date.

Maggie, that is kinda what I do now. The bigger problem is getting the records entered into MS Money and then make sure I have the slips in hand. Sometimes if I buy something in route to the duplex, the slips may end up in the truck, the garage, the duplex store room, or actually where they belong in my in basket or the file. Some records from the bank go well into MS Money, but I can't figure out how to get the Discover card records logged in except manually.

We sure got off topic, my fault.

These guys did such a good job last night that I didn't want to interrupt their spontaneity.

It would be a good idea to have a chat on Bluegreen. We would have to do it after ARDA since I am on the Big Island, back for a week and then off to Las Vegas.

Give me a date even if it is a month away, That will give us time to advertise it.
