This is a copy of letter that I am sending to Bluegreen and Harbour Lights
Dear Bluegreen Management,
I just returned home from two nights at Harbour Lights where I met up with family members who had a family get-together there. I want to thank Bluegreen and the staff at Harbour Lights for a vacation that my brother’s family will never forget.
My brother who is 71 celebrated his birthday week with 4 of his grown children, their spouses and 6 of his grandchildren. I made reservations for them back in January when we were still under the 5 month rule for partial weeks. I could not afford full weeks for the number of units they needed but I could book (4) 4 night units. Actually I booked 8 units for them because they had lock-off units. Right from the start last winter the reservation people bent over backwards to waitlist me and see that I got the needed reservations. They were careful to get me at least one ground floor unit. As it turned out the units were all in the same building and it was right across from one pool and just a short distance from the new pool.
My nieces and nephews who are now ages 35 to 50 rarely have time to get to vacation together. Last year when their parents celebrated their golden anniversary the children decided they wanted to plan a group vacation and I suggested Harbour Lights. It was a hit. They spent one day at the beach at the State Park and another day at the new Hard Rock Café Park. They loved the park and enjoyed the fact that they could walk there. I wasn’t able to join them until the last two days of their vacation and I did not go to the new park, but they raved about it. The music was all the music of when they were kids and they enjoyed the live bands and stayed until closing time at 1:00 a.m. The next morning the fellas got up at 6:00 for an early tee time for their golf game at a nearby golf course. Oh to be that young again. I took the ladies shopping and we ended up at SAMS where we bought supplies for that night’s dinner. Our last night there we grilled steaks on the grills and had a luscious steak dinner followed by time at the pool. All ages enjoyed the lazy river. I enjoyed spending time with some of my great nieces and nephews who I have rarely had the pleasure of getting to know. The two youngest girls were 8 and 10 and there were also some 17 and 18 year olds. Kids of all ages had a wonderful time. This morning I was hugged and thanked by everyone who were grateful that “Aunt Rita” had made their get together possible. When these nieces and nephews were babies I was their baby- sitter. I moved South about the same time they started growing up. This week watching them as grown-ups with grown children of their own made me feel kind of old, but it gave me great pleasure watching them enjoy the benefits of a Bluegreen vacation.
It’s weeks like this that make my Bluegreen ownership such a marvelous investment. It isn’t the dollars it’s the memories. Your staff at Harbour Lights did a great job of welcoming the group and seeing to their needs. They loved the Harbour Lights location. The one night we went to dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant. It is possible to walk from the parking lot at the end of the complex to the restaurant which is what several of us did. The food was great and quite reasonable. My brother told me that’s it’s been a long time since he and his kids have had such a relaxed and wonderful time together.
