  • BG's Harbour Lights in Myrtle Beach

I was able to reserve a 2 bdrm week at BG's Harbour Lights in Myrtle Beach for my friends for Aug 30-Sept 6th using an RCI week.

Is this a nice resort? How does it compare to other BG resorts in Myrtle Beach? Is there anything I should tell them to do before/after arrival.
    Thanks.

This a a very nice resort with lovely pools. 2 outside and one inside. The rooms are quite large. It is located on the intercoastal but is a few miles from the beach. I had relatives staying there in June and they loved it.

There are some buildings that do not have elevators but if it's a ground floor that does not matter. I think most of the 2 bedroom units are in buildings with elevators.

The last reservations that I made, I asked where the elevators were.........or were not. There are no elevators in Buildings # 1 and # 9, and buildings #12-20. Reservations will always help you if you have a handicapped situation, but is you just prefer not to climb, this is good info.
My first trip to the Fountains is starting Friday with children, inlaws and grandchildren!!!

We just got back from our stay at Carolina Grande but we did a day visit to Harbor Lights and we loved it. They have very nice sized indoor game/activity room. The indoor pool is good sized and provides an option if it happens to rain.

One thing you might like to know is that the outdoor grills are charcoal only. I was used to other BG resorts and always having a gas grill available but here you need to bring charcoal if you want to grill. It was interesting that Carolina Grande didn't have any grills available and the only ones I saw at Shorecrest were charcoal as well. Maybe Shorecrest had other grills but that was all I saw.

        Good luck!

I was there last summer. The new pool area is nice (infinity pool). I noticed fewer children there since the other pool has the lazy river and game room and the newer one is segregated from the other pool area. Now this didn't bother me but I could see the lack of elevators at some buildings being a chore, especially hauling luggage of flights of stairs. On the plus side it's located next to the new Hard Rock park. Have fun!

              Harbor Lights

We stayed there last July for a week. It is rather easy to get down to the beach but it is rather nice to stay farthe from the crowds. They have state park passes that are avaiable with a deposit. There is a great beach at the state parks just south of Myrtle Beach and with the pass your admission is free. Enjoy the resort and Myrtle Beach.
