  • Wait list question

I really thought that the best benefit I would get from the new premier thing that was rolled out was access to this "premier" reservations phone number. I thought that I might stop getting different answers to the same questions. I was wrong.

The 1st person I talked to about a week ago or so told me that I could be put on the waiting list for multiple resorts. Ok, cool. She then told me that if I was on the wait list for 2 resorts and they both had the same check-in date, I could set a preference (my 1st choice is resort A, my second choice is resort B, ...). That made sense to me. I only put myself on the wait list for 1 resort at that time because I didn't know I could be on the list for more than 1 resort.

So I call today and wanted to get on the wait list for 2 other resorts for the same check-in date in case I didn't get our 1st choice. Well this person told me that if all 3 were available I would get a reservation picked for me at random. In other words there is no way to say "my 1st choice is resort A, my second choice is resort B, ...".

Anyone know what is truth regarding this?

Should I call and ask again to break the tie? My bet would be I get neither answer. I would get a 3rd explanation of how it works.

    Thanks,

    Three points.

First, the Premier line is answered by the same people who answer the general line. The only thing that is different is the number you call and the hours you can call it. It used to be supported by owner services, but their call flow got too great and so Bluegreen merged the Premier call center queue into the general queue.

Second, it is true that you can get on the waitlist for multiple resorts on the same date. The issue is that there really is no way to indicate choice between requests since the wait list is processed manually. The key to using the waitlist is to make your requests independently of each other and keep them as precise and simple as possible. If there is any ambiguity or complexity in your request, you risk not getting it.

Third, if you want policy and practice questions, your best bet is to post a question here or in the Bluegreen HOA. Chances are you will find someone here who either has the answer or tried successfully or unsuccessfully to do what you are trying to do.

      Wait List

I have some concerns with this wait list posting and Jim's reply so I am actually going to take this over to the Bluegreen HOA and post over there. Susan

Jim another question about wait list.
If I make three independent request for different resorts for the same week, am I not taking the chance that I could be assigned all three of them. If I am wouldn't my only recourse be to cancel two of them. With the new cancel policy that's going to cost me money or reduce my yearly cancel quota.

At another reply you said something about calling owner services on the day they pocess the wait list. How would you go about doing this? Richard

If you put in 3 wait list requests and you have enough points, they will book them all if they are available.

Call reservations the day they process the waitlist and just ask if you got it yet.
