  • New Amenities at Big Cedar Wilderness Club

While looking at Big Cedar's property map today, I
noticed that the map had been updated. It now shows the new Wilderness
Club pool between the upper lodges Mill Creek(2700) and Roaring
River(2900). The new pool is tiered with upper and lower pools.
There's also a kid's pool and pool house. When we were there at the
end of May we could see that it was looking like something would have
multi levels, but it was still just dirt and foundation with piping
sticking out. We didn't know the specifics of what was being built.
It looks like scheduled completion for this new pool area is August 1.

We also noticed construction on the Big Cedar Lodge side below the hot
tubs at the Swimmin' Hole pool area. The new map now shows volleyball and shuffleboard in that area.

I'm headed there on August 4th. I'll let everyone know if the new pools are open yet. I love Big Cedar--especially since we're 3 hours away.

I just returned from Big Cedar WC and I doubt the new pool will be opening by Aug. 1. The two tier pool and the baby pool concrete have been poured, the pool house has a roof on it, but not much else has been completed (still needs a pool deck, stairs, fences, etc.). My guess is that even Labor Day weekend would be optimistic for the new pool to open. On the volleyball and shuffleboard area they had a large crew scrambling to finish the landscaping on Friday, so I would not be surprised if they finished it by 8/1.

Our one stay there was compliments of a friend on a certain other TS forum. When we checked in and they asked where we are from, and we said Lampe, we had to tell them we didn't come by boat.

It was January or February, and it was too cold to go by boat.

          Big Cedar guest day privileges

We are going to Branson in August and will be at Falls Village. Does Big Cedar have guest privileges so that we can use their pools?

          Any insights would be appreciated!
          Thanks!

It's been my understanding that there is no day use privileges at Big Cedar.

Guests staying at BC Wilderness Club have to pay a $5 daily incidental fee to access Big Cedar Lodge amenities, activities, etc. I saw on BG's website that guests staying at the new Wilderness Club at Long Creek will also be charged the $5 daily incidental fee so they will be able to use Big Cedar facilities.

Really? You gotta ask a resort to use their amenities? Huh?!

Big Cedar and Bluegreen's Wilderness Club at Big Cedar are two different resorts. The former is owned by Bass Pro Shops and the latter by Bluegreen, of course.

They are right next door to each other and unless you were really aware of it, you may not realize they are two different entities; in fact you take the same road to get to each one of them off the highway. Wilderness at Long Creek is yet another resort and is just down that highway a bit according to what I have read.

So, the Five Dollar Fee per Day is to use the BPS's Big Cedar amenities and facilities. It is not an optional fee either.....you are billed for it at check-out regardless if you use any of the facilities or not.

And yes, it does say that you are also charged this five dollar fee when staying at Long Creek because again you can use the facilities at BPS's Big Cedar, while staying there.

Since there is no Big Cedar five dollar per day charge when you are staying in Branson at Falls Village, I would say that you do not have any day privileges at Big Cedar while in a reservation at Falls Village.

I think Mr. Bum, or someone, was the first to bring up that Wilderness on Long Creek. I've driven down there and I haven't found anything.

There is new project on Long Creek Road, Red Red Bluff or something like that, but when I saw it there was absolutely no mention of Bluegreen and all that was there was unsold patio homes. Given the market (lack thereof) here, they are probably still unsold.

This is my first post. Been lurking for awhile. Call me lucky - I stayed at Long Creek just last weekend. July 18-20. It is BEAUTIFUL. Unbelievable. Its very easy to miss it - we did the first time by. If you get to the bridge - you're too far - come back & make the 1st right turn on Long Creek I believe. There really is no sign, except for a red/white/blue sign about a marina I think.

We got a deal - belive me. I was on the waiting list for Big Cedar - had reservations Falls Village - I received a call from a representative about 2 weeks before my reservations asking if I wanted to try out Long Creek. I got if for 6600 points. 2 nights/3days. Normally, it high red, it will be 10,000 points for a Friday/Sat night & 7500 for Sunday-Thurs. You can also use bonus time. I believe they quoted me at $269.00 per night (I'm a silver member).
The houses are really unbeliveable. Doubles - we had one side - sleeps 15 - yes thats right - 15 comfortably, in beds. (we had 7 in our party) The house has 2 levels, The upstairs has 3 bedrooms, master with king bed, full bath/shower/walk-in closet, whirlpool tub. 2nd bedroom/study has a trudle bed, desk, dresser,tv. 3rd bedroom has a full/queen bed dresser/tv. Also included, a living area with leather couches, swivel chair, fireplace. Dining table for eight, another counter height table for 4 with rawhide director like chairs. Also probably 3-4 of those chairs across the kitchen bar. The kitchen was beautiful. Black granite counter tops / black appliances, 12' tile floor. I forgot to mention the deck on the upstairs level - several cushy chairs / loungers, table ect - with look out over the lake & Marina.
Now for the lower level. Down the stairs - you come immediatly to a bar - again, black granite, bar includes, small fridge, separate icemaker, microwave, stovetop, sinks, winerack. Next you see, the full size pool table & a poker table, including chips/cards, etc. The living area is nice too. 2 bedrooms, another master bedroom with the same ameneties as upper level - did I mention the showers - all tile, regualar shower heads, a shower head from the top & a portable/moving shower spray on other side. There are also a couple jets. Glass enclosure. Also ALL ceilings in the house are 12 foot and all rooms has ceiling fans & 42" plasma flat screen tvs. Back to the lower level. the 2nd bedroom is kid freindly - includes bunk beds & a full/queen size bed in this room. On the dresser there were a couple kiddie books - nice touch. The lwer deck/screened porch had a really cool picnic table - I can't even describe it. Again a veiw of the lake - also both uupper & lower decks have a door which leads into master bedrooms. I can't believe I forgot to mention the highlight of the house - the theater room. 92" flat panel plasma tv - theater seating, Lshaped like seating in front & 4-6 seats on upper row with cup holders. (I think they recline - I don't remember - I didn't sit in them). Surround sound - bose speaker system I think. It was not completely hooked up yet. DVD was working - we had to borrow a couple from Big Cedar. You could bring your own - we didn't know. Cable was not hooked up in there yet for some reason & an Ihome was not hooked up either. The remote worked everything, the tv, lights, etc. Way Cool!!
All decor is outdoorsy, fishing - alot of browns/greens/orange
We were only the 2nd people to stay in the house. It was very comfortable from the moment we walked in. Alot of OH MY GODS!!!! were said. We had never been anywhere like this.
I'm not sure how many houses there were - if I had to guess - maybe 20-30. There are 2 streets of them. Very deceiving from just looking at them from the front. You also have use of the garage door opener - double car garage.
The very first house you come to is the registration, it also from what I hear has a full gym in the lower level to use. They mentioned all the equipment was the latest & greatest - had tvs' on them.
There are no amenities at Long Creek yet - they were telling us about the pool - but I didn't understand what they were talking about - infinity pool or something? Said they will be building for at least another year ot two, where I wasn't sure but thats' what we were told.
We were able to use all the amenities at Big Cedar - I don't think we were charged the $5.00 fee - they didn't say anything if we were. The girls at the registration office weren't exactly sure what was going on since it was all so new & some little things that still needed done. We did have cc privileges at Big Cedar.

If you get the chance - GO to LONG CREEK - it will be well worth it. I'm trying to figure out how to go back over Labor day weekend. I definetly don't have enough points, but will be asking a couple friends to go & help split the bonus time $$.

If this needs to be moved to another thread - do so - I was just trying to answer JLB who stated they didn't find Long Creek. It is there & its UNBELIVEABLE.
I also have pictures if someone can direct me as to where to post some.

Wow, that did in my ADD!

I guess I did find it, but it didn't have signage yet.

It sounds like you are talking about the duplex patio homes in what is labeled Red Rock Bluff (scroll down to find it):

Missouri Partners, Inc. - Branson / Tri-Lakes Area Development | PAST PROJECTS

There are other projects in this area, like the Lodges on Indian Point available through Grand Crowne and Cross Creek houses, that are not traditional timeshare resorts, but are available through timeshare channels.

FWIW, there are beaucoup projects like this around Branson right now, and an all-but-non-existent market demand. Something's gotta give.

Yes, the Wilderness Club at Long Creek is the former Red Rock Bluff. We toured them last week and although the homes are spectacular, it is like visiting any street USA. It is just 2 rows of houses, close together, but on the lake. There is nothing yet to do there if you do not have a boat. I inquired about swimming in the lake and was told "only if you did it off a boat". There are plans for a water taxi and a shuttle to Wilderness Club at Big Cedar and eventually, lodges, pool etc.

                              Pools at Big Cedar

We stayed at Big Cedar July 26-August 2. The two pools between the lodges were filled but there was no decking yet and it seemed as if there was still quite a lot to be done.
