Wilderness Club at Big Cedar is our favorite with Shenandoah Crossing, St. Augustine, and Lodge Alley close seconds. However we also enjoyed Shore Crest, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. In August we will be going to Club 36 in Las Vegas. Next year we will be going North so the list may change.

I just finished up a week at the Fountains with kids and grandkids. A real high quality resort with a professional staff. Because I had the grandchildren with me, I guess that it is my favorite right now. It is a wonderful place for children because it is secure and has enough on-site to keep you busy. We were recognized as owners and treated the same. I did not go to the owner update after they told me that they were not allowed to discuss the new ownership level yet. (that changed right after we left) I have a lot of photos of the Wakoola Springs Pool and grill area. If anyone wants to see them, send me a PM with your email, and I will be glad to share.

We've stayed at CMV, The Fountains, Sunshine II, and World Golf Resort.
The Fountains were by far the nicest of our experiences so far. We were in a new building and the room was totally plush. Wakoola Springs was awesome and the kids didn't even want to leave to go to Disney!
Sunshine was very nice but the bed was bad. World Golf and CMV were both older units, but still clean and pretty nice. We've done a town home and a cottage at CMV. The cottage was tight for our family of 5, but heck, still lots better than a hotel! The Townhome was a much better fit for all of us. I want to see what the cabins out there are like!

I definitely like our home resort (Big Cedar) as I'm sure you've all figured out (sorry for going on and on). And we've only had the opportunity so far to get to Christmas Mtn., Falls Village, and Shenandoah Crossing. I would have to rank those in the following order:
1. Wilderness Club at BC
2. Shenandoah Crossing
3. Christmas Mtn.
4. Falls Village
That could very well change at any given time depending on what we're wanting to do and see. Normally, when we travel far out of town, somewhere we've never been, we like to do a lot of sight-seeing....we both love history and there's not too many places better situated than Shenandoah crossing for that. Its perfect if you like early American history. At those times, the unit and amenities aren't as big a concern. But they weren't bad at all there either. Same with Christmas Mtn. We went there to see the Dells and do the water parks. Again, unit and amenities weren't a big concern, but they were still great. That place looks like it would be a blast in winter...especially for someone that's never skied before like me. And Fall's Village is ideal if you're heading to Branson to do the Branson stuff....shows, Silver Dollar City, shopping....touristy stuff. You're a couple of minutes from the strip but its still quiet and scenic. Units are very nice but not a lot of fancy amenities. We've been going down that way so long that we no longer have any interest in the Branson scene. Just want to get down to the lake and "decompose"....not do anything and relax. Big Cedar is ideal for that...for us anyway. Its close enough to Branson that if you bring someone along that wants to do the Branson stuff, they're 15 minutes away. Yet when you're on the property, you're a world away. We had an oceanfront room booked for Via Roma in December but plans changed and we had to let it go. I understand its an older resort without a lot of fancy amenities but its well kept and we were going there to plant our butts on the beach and not move for a few days. Thought it would be ideal.
We're both looking very forward to trying the following, not necessarily ranked in order of our desire to get to them:
1. Aruba
2. Fountains
3. Mountain Loft
4. Williamsburg
5. Shorecrest
6. Ahhh shoot....all of 'em.

Cabins are very small.

The cabins are tighter than the cottages. But they are in a nice pine and/or oak woods. They have wood fireplaces and are quite rustic.

Our favorite has to be Big Cedar. Just the location and the aminities are pretty good. We also like The Falls Village for the room and ease of availability of it. Both are close to home.

new Las vegas Club 36 was great!
We went to the new Club 36 resort in las Vegas last weekend and it was GREAT! The resort is well built, decorated very nicely, and the units were well designed. The pool is indoor and has a bar next to it, with a sunning roof adjacent to it. Given that it was 106 degrees outside, it was a great idea to have the pool indoor where we didn't need to worry about the sun!
It is still being finished, but will have restaurants on the first floor and the neighboring properties reportedly have plans for very nice developments as well (at present they are vacant lots). It was a few blocks from the "strip" but we loved walking there from the club although they will take you via shuttle if you ask.
The Presidential suite was amazing!! 6 seat movie theater, pool table, etc.!! We highly recommend it!
