  • Point reimbursement

Wanted to get your opinions on something. We have reserved two 2 bedroom cabins at Big Cedar for 4 nights the first week of June next year. It was 3,100 points per cabin. We are using one of the cabins and letting some friends of ours use the other one. They are wanting to reimburse us for the use of our points and I'm not sure how much to charge them. I was thinking of $300, which comes to $75 per night. Does that seem fair? What would you "charge" friends to use 3,100 points?

I know that many people use a rule of thumb of ten cents per point. So, you are in the right in the ballpark. In the end, it is all up to you.

You should NOT use the point value to calculate reimbursement. You should use rental value of unit. If I am a friend and you offer me a Cabin for $75/night, I am thinking you are my best friend.

$300 is a fair rate. You can even go as high as $100 per night and your friend shouldn't bat an eyelash.
