  • Brand New BG EOY Owners - Panic Question

    Hello!
Boy, am I glad I found this Forum! My husband and I were originally EOY Royal Suites/FantaSea Resorts owners at Atlantic Palace in Atlantic City, and we attended an Owner's Update by Bluegreen. Because we had "weeks" with FantaSea, we were enticed by the "points" system, so we agreed to switch over and become BG owners. I've since read the "Equity Trade Contract" and I have a major concern. It seems we now have a unit on the “Even” year (we were previously “Odd” ). We were told we have 15,000 points that we can spread out over 2 years, but does that mean we can use them starting this year (Even) as well as next year (2009-Odd) without experiencing availability issues, or would we have to use them all in the “Even” year, which is the rest of 2008 and then have to wait until 2010 to use the rest? Since we just purchased last Thursday (9/3), I guess we don't become activated until next month (10/3). I apologize for this long question, but any clarification you could give us woud be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to our Bluegreen Forum. Please feel free to ask any questions you want regarding the Club. We have lots of owners who know just about everything you will want to know about how the Club works.

No need to panic about your ownership. First and foremost, your anniversary date will be the date that you get your biannual points. Since you purchased this month, you will have an anniversary date of Oct 1 EVEN. That means you will receive 15000 points on Oct 1, 2008....Oct 1, 2010....Oct 1, 2012... etc.

You will have 2 years to use your 15000 points. However, If you do not use 7500 of them by Oct 1, 2009, those points will turn into saved points. Saved points are only good for Red, White and Blue Season. They are not good for use in High Red, Ultra Red, Peak Season, Special Season or Leaf season.

Your anniversary date is diffferent than your underlying deeded week and unit number. Even if your underlying deeded week is ODD, you will still have Oct 1 EVEN as your anniversary date.

      Whew! Thanks!

Wow...thanks a lot! I was scared there for a minute. As a follow-up, are there any limitations to being EOY owners with BG's point system? Would it cause problems getting a room at Atlantic Palace? That's our favorite spot since it's only slightly over an hour from where we live. Thanks, again!

No, you don't have any limits on your account based on a biannual package. There is a limit to how much inventory the Vacation Club has in Atlantic City. It will depend on how much inventory Bluegreen bought out and how much they buy back from other owners. If not very many owners do what you did, then it may be harder to get than we all hoped. We will have to see over the next year.

          Thanks!

Ok, Thanks! I hope more owners make the switch. There's a lot of changes and upgrades going on in Atlantic City, and since Atlantic Palace is right on the Boardwalk, it's pretty much in the middle of it.

I'm studying the Resorts Ownership Guide and all my paperwork, so I'll have more questions later on.

          EG!
