We are a young family that purchased 7000 points at Bluegreen's Chrismas mountain location in WI on Thurs 9/4/08. After talking to some people we decided this was not for us at this time in our life. I contacted the christmas mountain location and informed them that we decided to RESCIND on the contract. They where very understanding and instructed me to send a letter certified mail to the Corp office in Boca and return the media kit. I am doing this today. Is there anything else I need to do? Should I be worried that they will not cancel the contract??

Send it registered mail signed return receipt. By doing this they can't say they never received your letter or that it "got lost in the mail." I would also keep a copy of the letter I sent them.
There's not a lot of worry when cancelling a U.S. timeshare deal. The laws are in place to protect the consumer. Now, if this were a Mexican resort you might have more of a fight on your hands. But since this is a good company to work with I wouldn't be worried at all. Still, I'd protect myself by keeping records. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

I would send the kit back in a method that you get a return receipt, too. That way you have that covered, if for some reason it gets lost. Those kits can become pretty expensive if not returned.

thanks for the advise. I sent the letter certified mail with the return tag. I also decided to send a copy of the letter to all three of the people I worked with at the christmas mountain location, Sales person, manager and the closer. I figured i'd cover my bases for the cost of 3 stamps. The media kit is on it's way back UPS signature required so I'm covered there. I'm just glad I found you guys right away and didn't get stuck under all that. Anyone got a cabin they'd like to rent at christmas mountain in late Dec for a weekend to a newbie? Thanks AGAIN for all you help.
