This has been a busy last few weeks for me between my stock group, fall tomato harvest, and several wine events. That picture (which isn't going to stay too long) came from the Ren Fest. Our wine club does a wine competition where the general public is served small tastes of two wines. They pick which of the two wines they like best-or in some cases, dislike the least. After a double elimination, three wines emerge as the top wines, one white, one red and one blush which is often a fruit wine. The Queen comes by with her royal court and judges the three wines to pick the best of show wine.

Two years ago, one of my reds took the best of show. Even though that same wine was in the competition, this year, best I could do was a third with a white.

The picture was taken when we finally had a break, after the competition and before the heavy rain started. There was mist or sprinkles falling during most of the day. Camera lens had spots on it, I was getting wet standing there, and my glass was nearly out of wine

I am hoping to pick up my grapes today for the next batch of red wine. I have to get ready for next year's competition.

Thanks so much for sharing about the wines. That is so interesting for all of us. Makes me want to have a "tasting"................but being all the way down in NC.............guess it wouldn't work.

        Have a great weekend!

Christmas Mountain Village for a long weekend 10/23-10/26. It will be our 1st visit there. Hope the leaves are still changing. Can't wait.

In June -hopefully returning to The Fountains.

I have lots of saved points to use. Any suggestions.

Hoosiergal, since you are there the weekend after us, I'll try to keep it in good shape for you. I am pretty sure they will be short 1 beer (maybe 2) at Mulligans, but other than that, I think it will be undamaged by me.

Christmas Mountain Village the weekend of November 13-16 -- we're going to a waterpark one day, then staying in the villa the next to JUST DO NOTHING. We need the break, and the resort and the Dells will be quiet.

Don't normally travel in the Fall. Living up north in the frozen tundra, we usually travel in the winter months to the warm climate areas.

This year I'm heading to MGC in Vegas, the second week of Dec (7th-14th). I guess December is close enough to winter season (In a normal year it is sure cold enough up here to warrant a trip south)

Carlsbad Inn (leave today) for one week, one week at the Marriott Lake Tahoe in October, leave the day after Thanksgiving for our first trip to Orlando for a week and then on to Captiva for a week. I too love TSing!

Oh come on mas, this year is warm. I have blossoms on my apple trees. They think it is spring. If it keeps warm for a few more months, I can get a second crop of apples. But then again, if it is that warm, that would be very bad. Bring on the snow
