    We bought into MountainLoft before they even broke ground, and have update 2x since. Two years ago, we were invited to a dinner in Myrtle Beach from Bluegreen "to show us the new resorts". We were blindsided by a salesman who insisted if we didn't upgrade that night, our "case would be closed" (never understood what he meant).We declined. Last year we upgraded in Gatlinburg(to premier Silver) but I didn't realize they changed our deed from The Hammocks to Big Sky (club assoc.) I have since been told by another salesman that RCI will not let us deposit becuase we don't have a deed to real BG property. How can we remedy this?

    what part are you trying to remedy?

    These sales folks do not know what they are talking about.

    In the points system, you can select whatever resort/week/unit that you want to for deposit, so long as the exchange company will accept it.

    If you're seeking to get deeded back to ML, you can do that, via another upgrade, but unless you plan to claim priority on that week, there's no point. Not much probability of getting That Week + Unit back.

    I would be surprised that you have a Big Sky deed, as I thought we merely had use of some inventory, not an actual ownership stake in it.

      As Boardgirl pointed out, it doesn't matter where the underlying deed is unless you want to reserve that unit/week 12 months out. At 11 months out, we are all the same.

      I am also positive that the deed to Big Sky is not made out to you but to a BG Trust. What you have is the Owner Beneficiary Rights to that unit/week.

      I do have a question for you. Wo did the salesman work for who said you couldn't trade with RCI? Was he working for RCI? If so, he is really messed up. One of BG's selling point is that you have access to RCI's 3000 some resorts. A non-BG salesman would simply be lying to you to get you to buy their resort. I, and many, many other BG Vacation Club members have traded through RCI.

      To sum things up, you have nothing to remedy unless you want a certain unit/week to reserve 12 months out.

      You might consider joining the BG Yahoo group which has over a thousand members.

        No, it was a BG salesman who said RCI wouldn't accept my deposit because I have no deed to actual BG property. He said I would have to upgrade to get a deed at another resort, but I can't afford it. Also, how do they figure out my maintanence fees if i am not deeded to property.

          I forgot to thank you for your replies. I think I will venture over to Yahoo. We have not used our points wisely---still working but getting closer to retirement. Just not enough time to travel, and I doubt we will ever go to Big Sky. We are in South Carolina and like someplace we can drive to.

            Hi,
            MF are not worked out on where or when you points are deeded, they are in fact worked out on which fund your points or in.
            Since you have upgraded recently you will be in Trust fund E (your MF are a flat fee + a fee per point) 2008 mf were $290 + 0.33 cents per point.
            Tue is the the Club AGM so we should get to know what the 2009 MF will be.

              Thanks for clearing that up. Years ago, a BG salesman told me our MF depended on what resort we were deeded to. I am learning a lot since I've come here, but some things are still over my head.:-)

                A good timeshare salesman will find out what you are concerned about and then work that angle telling half-truths, easily misunderstood statements, and sometimes outright lies.

                If you want to deposit with RCI, all you have to do is to get a reservation that RCI will accept (ie., they might not accept a hotel unit and (I have heard) some studios. Also, in their database they have listed that certain units at certain resorts are a, for example, a Sunday checkin. If your week reservation starts on Saturday, RCI won't accept it. So, when making a reservation be sure to tell the BG person that you might give it to RCI and then BG will make sure it starts on the right day of the week.)

                When depositing, deposit as early as you can (11 months before the date of the reservation). That gives you almost 3 years to use the deposit (1 year before the date of the deposited reservation and two years after). Which resort and when should you choose for your deposit? A time that is in high demand and an area that is in high demand and an area/time with few deposits will give you the best deposit. And people who really know the secret might not share because that will increase deposits which cuts down the value of their deposit. (At one time a studio at Big Cedar was acclaimed as a great deposit. I haven't heard extensive praises of that lately. But I really don't know if that means that the value has gone down from too many deposits or that people are simply keeping quiet.)

                    Yes, the Bluegreen Yahoo group has a lot of stuff but there is a lot of good stuff on Bluegreen right here to finf if you scroll back and check the old posts.
