  • 2009 Maintenance Fees are Posted Online

2009 Maintenance fees are now posted online. Note that there is also a request for a $5.00 ARDA "donation" for each week you own. You can un-check the "donation" and the online calculator will give you the new amount.

It appears to me that our fees went up about $200 in one year. I know they also went up considerably last year. Anyone else have a take on this? It seems excessive to me. Thanks.

Without looking at the books, I can't say for sure exactly but I would guess the following would greatly impact fees:

Increased insurance rates especially for resorts next to the ocean.
      Increased health insurance costs.
Increased fuel costs (budget was determined before oil prices sank and BG probably thought they might rise even more).
Increased costs of supplies due to suppliers having increased fuel, etc., costs.
      Increased real estate taxes.
      and the list goes on.

I do see your point, and I am estimating it is about a 35% increase.

None of those items listed would cause MF's to rise 35% in one year. Sounds like mis-management to me.

I dont know where you have come up with a 35% increase.
My MF have gone up $149.60 on 36000 points.
            This an increase of 10%
This works out to be approx the same as I paid last year since there is no SA this year

From Foxman77's post. I was reading rather than doing the math. 10% increases seem to be the norm anymore.

Mine seem to be right at 10% as well. Although this may be the norm, I still think it is a bit high MHO. My non BG TS increased by about 4% which I think should be closer to the norm on an annual basis.

Is your non BG TS by the ocean? I think after the last few hurricanes that ocean TS are seeing unusually high insurance increases.
