  • Got your vacations planned for 2009 ?

We won't be traveling for the next two months with the holidays and I have to have heart surgery in a couple of weeks.............BUT we are excited
about the things we have lined up for 2009.

We decided we wanted to go to some resorts we hadn't been to and we also had some blue and white points we had to use this coming winter. In January we are going to Carolina Grande, Daytona Sea Breeze, and The Grande Villas in St. Augustine. In Feb. we have a week at Fox Run at Lake Lure, NC. We will be going to Shorecrest I and Lodge Alley in March and April to Via Roma in Bradenton Beach, FL..........and we are most excited about going back to Big Cedar in June. WE ARE LOVING DOING THE BLUEGREEN THING !

I was wondering if you have plans for 2009 and where you are heading? Maybe we will meet at some of these special places.

    Have a Blessed Weekend.....

We are booked only into Shorecrest 1 at Myrtle Beach in March.

We have hopes, plans, and California Dreaming for late summer. Nothing has been booked as yet. It would be for our 10 year anniversary, so I hope we get the set up we want. We may try to get into the French Laundry. It may take the pope to get reservations.

Gatlinburg in January for "Wilderness Wildlife Week," plus 2009 is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's 75th Anniversary, so we'll be hitting special exhibits in Knoxville museums the weekend before or after (depending on when we futz around in Cincinnati).

Hershey, PA in March; still in the "too many choices" stage on that one but of course the chocolate factory and probably the state museum in Harrisburg and I'd love to go to the Baltimore Arboretum and see the Tiffany collection in Evergreen. The kids will have other ideas, of course. Not planning to do much historical stuff because I hope to go back with the older kids in 2010 with my mom the history buff... Assuming we can tear her away from South Dakota for a whole week.

I wanted to go to Boyne Falls with the family in May but hubby can't get the time off then, so maybe September. Or maybe Missouri in September, I dunno. Hubby and I are abandoning the kids to spend next weekend at Mtn Run, guess I'll make up my mind then.

          Upcoming plans

We will be at Laurel Crest Dec 26 - Jan 2, 2009. Looking forward to the lights in Gatlinburg.

We are excited to be going back to Big Cedar, for the 3rd time, in June. We will be there from June 19 - June 28, 2009. When are you going Syl? Maybe we can connect. We are both 40, our sons will be 9 and 2. They love the Devil's Pool. Can wait to see the new pools.

Good luck with your heart surgery.

We will be at Mountain Loft for New Year's Eve-always a good time. Then in March we will be at Panama City Resort & Club to see what goes on at Spring Break! In June we'll spend 4 days at The Hammocks and then drive up to Charleston for 5 days at Lodge Alley. Finally we're on the wait list for Laurel Crest in October-we consider this our 2nd home! Hopefully we'll be back at Mountain loft the week after Christmas for New Year's Eve again. But, if the stock market doesn't straighten up, we might just stay home and watch the Travel Channel!

Going back to Big Cedar in May. I too want to see the new pool. Does anyone know if it is totally outside, or is it partially enclosed?
Also we have Shorecrest I booked around labor day, plus I just booked the Nascar weekend the end of February at Studio 36 in Las Vegas. I have never been to a major race and am looking forward to that and the new amenities.

We will be at Big Cedar May 29th-June 5th. Sorry we won't be there at the same time. We have only been there two times because we are in NC and it is right much of a haul to drive. I just made reservations at The Hammocks at Marathon and that is going to be a long drive, but our daughter and her family live in Orlando and we can stop there to break up the trip. We are retired and we have more time than money.and we hate to deal with all the pain of flying.

Thanks for your concern for the surgery. It is the 13th and I will be so glad when it is over.

                              God Bless........
