2009...big plans LOL..

Jan 2-13 One week at Club Velas Vallarta & 5 days at Casa Velas ( own at Club Velas & other 5 days a certificate at Casa) Puerto Vallarta Mexico

Feb 28-March 14 Vallarta Palace Nuevo Vallarta Mexico ( member referral) then following week Marina de Oro ( RCI Exchange) Puerto Vallarta Mexico ( 3 bedroom unit and now everyone cancelling on us, anyone want to go LOL.)

May 16 Trying to book an exchange into Grand Mayan Acapulco Mexico if RCI ever works online again.
May 23 - 30 Aqua Pacifica Penthouse Ixtapa Mexico ( own unit)

July 18-25 Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta Mexico ( point owner with resort)
July 25-Aug 1 still planning...maybe Club Velas ( Puerto Vallarta Mexico) or may try to rent out for anytime of year and if so then will do exchange via RCI, TPI, or others or a Last minute vacation.

Sept 28-Oct 5 Royal Villas Mazatlan Mexico ( to be booked soon timeshare owner)

Nov......probably plan a mother daughter vacation somewhere....

That is it for now but ya never know.

Oh elder son going to Attitash Mtn Village on RCI exchange in Jan & youngest son to go to Mazatlan one month of year at his own unit Royal Villas Mazatlan Mx

Also sure I will be booking some other units for 2 friends....this is like a full time job...LOL, but sure is fun!

We sure do understand the part about recovering from being with the grandchildren. We live in NC and we have two grandchildren in Orlando.
We use our timeshare places in Florida (near Orlando) to go for a few days after our visit with them. It has also helped us not to stay too long with our daughter and her family.............."you know what they say.....fish begins to smell after 3 days"

Nope, not retired....just living the vida loca in Mexico. Fortunately we can drive to all these places and gas here is just a tad lower than US at present, which is so weird!!! We have always had higher gas prices.

We live a very different life, but also very interesting, and certainly getting to enjoy lots of fun and vacations, while we can!!!

We have 2 vacations planned for next year at this time. The first one will be 2 weeks at the Grand Mayan - Riviera Maya in April. This exchange is confirmed and will be our 3rd 2 week stay at the Grand Mayan - Rivera Maya. We also have a 10-14 day trip to New York City planned for the summer. I have a request in for the Manhattan Club through SFX. We went to New York City last July for a couple weeks with one week at the Manhattan Club and the rest of the time at the Michelangelo Hotel in mid-Manhattan. We will be going regardless of whether the Manhattan Club request comes through or not, though I am sure it will. We will just stay at the Michelangelo Hotel again which is a luxury 4 star hotel. We actually like it much better than the Manhattan Club and they upgraded us to a suite which was lot nicer and larger than the unit at the Manhattan Club.

Of course we will also do our usual 7 or 8 3-5 night stays at Harrah's Resort- San Diego and the Paris in Las Vegas. The rest of the time we will just play it by ear.

I don't think your gas prices are lower any more as they have dropped drastically here with many places in the country less than $2.00 /gal now. Prices have dropped well over $2.00 /gallon here in Southern California. Of course the Peso has also dropped drastically so you still might be cheaper.

I fnally finished up all of our reservations for next year. It takes me until the end of the year since I can only book 12 months in advance and we have always planned a Nov or Dec vacation.

For 2009 we'll be going to

Jan: Hilton Hawaiian Village, Oahu Hawaii
March: Marriott's Newport Coast Villa's, Newport Coast, CA
May: Marriott's Custom House, Boston, MA
July: Grand Timber Lodge, Beckenridge, CO
October: Royal Caribbean's Voyage of the Sea's W. Med cruise
November: Marriott's Ocean Pointe, Palm Beash Shore's, FL

At some point I'm sure we'll book one or two last minute trips to Branson, MO but, they'll be short notice trips and we'll only stay 3 or 4 nights. They're just little get away trips for us. Since we have that 2 month gap between July and October we'll probably go in that timeframe and, we always like to go see the Christmas lights in December so I'm sure they'll be a short trip booked for that as well.

Did you call the resort directly or make the 'view request' thru SFX)

Also, just curious - do you rent a car when u stay for 2 weeks at at GM RM?

DH and I will be bringing my sister to Pono Kai for 2 wks in Jan. and onto Maui Schooner for 2 wks returning to NJ in early Feb. Then we will be at Las Vegas Desert Club 3 wks in April. Back to Hawaii for 2 wks at Kona Coast II in July followed by another 2 wks at Maui Schooner. Then we go to Florida in October and return around Thanksgiving for the holidays with our family. We will add to the Cocoa Beach trip with last minute Getaways in Florida as we did this year. We are currently enjoying week #5 of this year's 6-week stay. Our kids and grandkids were all at Ocean Landings from Nov. 1st to Nov. 8th and now it's more relaxation time for us. Life is good!

I got Ocean View by requesting it from the receptionist when we checked in at the resort. This was their busiest time of the year.

No, I never rent a car in Mexico.
