  • Newbie here, but I think I can provide a unique perspective...

I'm actually an employee of Bluegreen Resorts... to be specific, I'm a sales representative. I'm one of the folks that takes you on that 90 minute *coughhopefullycough* tour and uses those infamous "strong arm" tactics to get you to buy something when all you wanted was something free. =P

I'm just kidding of course... clearly, there is a healthy community of people here who genuinely enjoy vacation ownership and who find Bluegreen's products the right fit for their families. After reading a lot of what's out there regarding timeshare and specifically my company, it's really refreshing to see that the 30% of people who actually buy on a sales presentation are enjoying their Bluegreen timeshare so much.

Seriously... I'm new... and I'm young... I need that kind of encouragement. I'm not so jaded to where I can spend all day "scamming" people (as some websites would suggest...). That would take a serious toll on my spiritual health...

That being the case, I was hoping I could provide some insights into Bluegreen vacationing for any who are so inclined as to inquire. Or if anyone wants to know about how to start a career in the world of direct timeshare sales, I can provide some answers there, too.

All I ask is that you do me the favor of not discouraging me too much with "rip-off" this and "Ponzi scheme" that. =P

You should know better by now.

Reply or PM. I am an open book.

It is a job, you will not do worse than those people that sell the danagerous security to unprepared people or high executor that does not monitor its company's health and need the whole national bail out after he get rip a gold exit package and claim he has no part in this mess, or those irresponible mortgage broker who give out the loan to people that clearly should not get it.

    Welcome to the forum.

No, I not not a BG owner, and don't plan on it in near future nor do I plan to be a salesman. So no question to you.

No one here says that TS are a Ponzi scheme although HCCs are pretty damn close. While you might be able to provide some glints of insights, there are those here that know much from both the user and the sellers end of things in BG. Welcome! We hope you stick around and participate and hope that your bosses don't curb your participation. If your name is Summers, you might want to start over/change it without using parts of your actual name. Does PHD indicate your level of education or the more often used acronym in TSs - Piled High and Deep.

You sound like a nice, decent, young guy/gal (?). Selling timeshares may be a good start for you.

Four of my frat buddies from Moo U went to Florida together and did some sort of early 70's sales scheme/scam. Naturally, it did not work out.

But, one of them wound up starting Hooters, in Clearwater, and another wound up with US Homes, eventually the President of the Rocky Mountain Division, and then moved on to head up another big development near Denver.

OTOH, as I am here in Branson, and I personally know some who got stuck in that TS sales rut, and have never gotten out, try not to let that happen to you. I am now working with a guy like that who finally got out, fed up with the false promises and having to make apologies to those he sold to as they came back . . . and he has absolutely nothing to show for his efforts.

I was in direct sales for 8 years after Moo U, myself, and it is not a place you want to stay.

          Welcome!

We're happy to have you here!

I bought first on a Bluegreen presentation that had been a cold call in my home city. Have not regretted it, and have bought more points since, but way cheaper.

I do hope you are "one of the good ones" that lays out the benefits, presents the bottom line, possibly negotiates lower entry points (why we bought - got to an affordable 8000 EOY package), and then lets the prospect decide for themselves. You must know that it improves your business to have a prospect like and respect you, versus departing with a very bad impression of the system. It's not too hard for us to know when we're being lied to, or when the rep just doesn't know what they are talking about. Continue to educate yourself on the Bluegreen system as that can take you far.

Keep that same demeanor at "owner updates" - we like to get info on what's new, what's coming, etc etc., versus the hard sell.

Congratulations on being affiliated with a very good system. I like the way Bluegreen manages their business and looks after their owners.

May you have a successful career that does not compromise your spiritual health. By representing a product you believe in, you can do it!

            Welcome...

Glad you are here.. If you remain a consistent presence, I hope you'll be able to provide help and insight into the industry. You'll find that there are many individuals who realize that developer sales are necessary for resort systems to continue to grow.

            Welcome...
