  • Patrick Henry Square

We have a week reserved at PHS in July and I have been trying to find photos of the facility. Why are there no photos? Not anywhere. If someone knows of a link, would you please post one? I'm just curious of what the place is like (besides Bluegreen words).

Isn't this just the conversion of the Patrick Henry Inn?
shown here with its old BW signage

have they started purpose built TS units?

I was there for an owners tour in July. If you are in the new building, they are wonderful, and you have no worries. If your in the old hotel, cancel now. Its a rat trap (thats where we stayed). Seriously.

I went there in August on bonus time. I only stayed a weekend but I wanted to leave asap. I stayed in the new building in a 2Bdr. The room was extremely small although both bathrooms were nice. They did have flat screen TV's. The rooms were to small to enjoy them.

I just called and Patrick Henry Square is the new section. The old section is called Patrick Henry Inn. So I'm satisfied.

The difference between a Square and an Inn is the same as the difference between a Diamond and a lump of coal.

I remember driving by that hotel in the mid 1990's and it looked like a rat trap back then.

I thought BG would just tear it down and rebuild. Thanks for the info!

I think I actually spent a couple of nights there once on a short trip to Williamsburg in the 80's- nothing to talk about- pro or con.

I had a cousin that was managing the place back then, I'm surprised he didn't put up a plaque for you. He's actually the only one I personally know that has really profited ($) from timeshares, BG needed a right of way through his property for increased water/sewer requirements, because of deals made, he ended up selling his property for $2M before the crash.

Just checked the BlueGreen site and now there are updated photos. The units look very up to date and very nice. I can't wait to see in person. The description soun ds like a "work in progress". Pool under construction, as is hot tub and playgrounds.

The city put conditions on the sale and issuance of the permits. BG has to keep the hotel open and operating until at least end of year. I think they want to tear it down, or at least gut it.

Do you think that the civil servants are doing what the city council directed them to do? And who elected the city council?
