  • Odyssey Dells -- Photos? Anyone Been There?

Odyssey Dells is always listed on Bluegreen's Web site as one of those places with last-minute availabilities. But I'm always reluctant to book time there when there are no photos of the place anywhere. (Why not?) I've searched the Internet for reviews of the place, but haven't come up with any.

Has anyone been there? What's your take on it? If you have photos, I'd love to see them, as I'm sure others would, too.

I have never been inside, but i do live in the Dells half of the year.
It was once a hotel, it is on the busy strip. If you go in the summer, you are right next to Mt. Olympus and I wold imagine you get free waterpark passes. I am sure Bluegreen redid the rooms very nicely. It is not a resort, like christmas Mountain, but a building in a commercial area. i can't imagine you would have much of a view.

I have driven by the place, just to see what is happening there.

I heard that BG had purchased land for future expansion along with the Odyssey, but I have not seen any future plans, so not sure how it is currently set up, or what the future will be for it.

I do know that it is on a busy road, but that is true for most of the Dells area, only a couple major roads, and lots of hotels and resorts on those roads, so it is pretty common.

Sorry I am not a lot of help, but I stay at CMV.

Bluegreen has a few acres at the back of the parking lot on which they can build. I am pretty sure they have closed the Oddyssey sales center for now.

It was previously Treasure Island/Captain Quarters. Not sure if you can find information on the previous name.

We stayed there last August in a 2 bedroom (I think that is all they have.)

The units are quite small, but ok none the less. It is a limited kitchen. Full size refrigerator, dish washer, coffee pot 2 burner cook top and microwave. Did not do any cooking while there, we just went for a long weekend. It does include unlimited use of the Mt. Olympus resort indoor and outdoor depending on season with 4 wrist bands, additional can be purchased at a very reasonable rate. The waterpark and amusement park is its greatest feature. So if you time during prime season you will have a lot to do, otherwise there is limited things open depending on weather.

One other note, our unit the carpets were beyond filthy. We have an infant that was crawling around, after 5 minutes his legs were black. We did report so hopefully it was cleaned.

I don't think you will get last minute availability in high season, but June or Sept or Oct would be pretty nice.

              Odyssey Dells

I stayed there in October and we had a wonderful time. The 2Bdrm unit is a bit small and everyone shares one full bathroom. They are planning on correcting this when they finish the new units. There was construction underway while we were there to convert some units in an existing builing into additional units. Having access to the indoor waterpark was a great feature. During the season that the adjacent theme park and outdoor waterpark are open you would have access to those as well. The kitchen was somewhat limited but worked out fine for the four of us during a three day stay. The waterpark is a bit of a walk from the room but you can use an indoor walkway the entire way. We are definitely planning to go back again.

We actually bought our original BG points at that location about two years ago. It was called Treasure Island at the time. There was no sales office, and we sat in rows of black office chairs in the basement of the hotel! Pipes and duct work everywhere... drywall dust... It was a hoot! They must have been good salesmen, because they sold us $10,000 worth of points! Now I think they do all sales for the area out at CMV. They are working on finishing the Oddessy Dells sales office, and new units on site that will be bigger. We like the water park and indoor amusement park in the winter for a short get away. It's fun for the kids. We have also stayed at CMV, and picked up free passes for the Oddessy Dells water park by listening to an update. The rooms are nice but very compact. It's a nice short stay, but I wouldn't enjoy a week in such a tight space.
