  • Looking at BlueGreen Points

I currently have some Wyndham Points at II and would like to add another timeshare.

I first thought to buy another Wynhdam and have it deeded to my wife and put it in RCI. But I have started looking at Blue Green.

I am just in my initial stages at this point.

I like the idea of their mini system but would primarily probably use it to trade.

I would like to hear your experiences and success in use BG for trading with RCI.

    Thanks,
    KT

    Hi KT,

Bluegreen is a pretty good ownership for trading. The reason for that is that you book the unit you want to deposit and deposit it yourself into the exchange company. This gives you the ability to pick the units with the highest trading power depending on the exchange company.

Lots of owners like to book Big Cedar studio units for exchanges. Summer weeks have really good trading power. Winter weeks are only 2000 points. People use those to get into Orlando 2br units.

I would say that Shore Crest II in North Myrtle Beach. Big Cedar in Ridgedale and Christmas Mountain Village are very good traders in RCI given how many points it takes to book those units.

In addition, Bluegreen is good for RCI Points. Using points for deposit, you can get a lot of points for your maintenance fee dollars.

So this is what I understand, please correct me if I am wrong.

Blue Green can be deposited in either RCI/II
If you deposit in RCI you can deposit as weeks.

You have the options to Deposit for RCI points.

Can you give me a general idea of some how some BG points related to some RCI Points.

You have to book a week and deposit it, you can't just deposit BG points.

2br Red week at Mountain Run is 8000 Bluegreen Points. It can be deposited for 55,500 RCI points.

My understanding is that ALL BG resorts can be deposited into RCI but only SOME BG resorts can be deposited into II.

Is there a list of which can be deposit in each then.

I also want to confirm that you can still rent from BG if you are short a thousand points or two if you are a silver member at least.

                renting Bluegreen points

I just pulled this off the Bluegreen web site. You have to be a Traveler Plus Member.

You might be out of points, but you're in luck. As a Bluegreen Traveler Plus member, you have the exclusive opportunity to rent additional Points. Points must be rented in increments of 1,000, and are valid for use up to 12 months from the date of rental. At a cost of only $150 per 1,000 Points, you can afford to extend your vacation or upgrade accommodations!

                  Try Boca for rentals

                  KT,
You can rent points from Boca (I think what you do is have him make the reservation and then pay him what it is worth.). Check his web site. However, I don't think you can rent from Boca just part of the points needed for a reservation.

There are also other BG owners who might do a rental for you.
