I am sure this has been asked and answered many times, but I just joined this forum, so I appreciate the patience! We have purchased 8000 points from BG. We are thinking of upgrading via resale, but a little hesitant. Can anyone give me the pros and cons? We already have travelers plus, and bonus time benefits, etc. with the points I purchased. Or what challenges it presents having separate accounts, etc. THX!

Cons of resale: takes longer for the paperwork to go through; maintenance fees could be higher than if you do an upgrade; might have two different anniversary dates; (this doesn't apply to you but) resale doesn't give you Travelers Plus and some other benefits; doesn't apply to Bronze, etc. benefits.
Suggestion: Contact BocaBum (Jim) and tell him when you bought from BG (different trusts have different ways of calculating fees), how many points you have, and how many more points you want. He (as a referral agent for Pinnacle) can give you the best help available. He can do both straight resale and resale with benefits.
Jim is such a good guy he might even say that there is a good deal on eBay and snatch that one up.
You could also join the BG Yahoo group. Some people have joined recently who are trying to sell and you might make a good deal (as well as learn a lot).
