  • Help!

Got into this site b/c my Husband and I have been BG members since 2003 and have done nothing but waste our $ b/c we have not used or taken advantage of our timeshare. Well this year we are going to try something new... use our timeshare to our advantage. 1st.. we have already borrowed our 2009 pts (we get them April 1) to go to Charleston for a weekend (ultra red). 2nd.. what can we do with our 2008 pts we have? We missed the part about rolling them into RCI by 12/31/08. Now keep in mind, we are just lucky to get away for the Charleston weekend. HELP!!!!

P.S. I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate this site. Be patient!

It appears that you just can't get away. Is that temporary or permanent? If permanent, you have two choices, rent (until retirement) or sell. Today's economic climate makes selling difficult and you can't get a decent price due to people who HAVE to sell and will take bottom prices. So, I would suggest contact BocaBum (Jim) to have him rent for you. If it is temporary, you can still get a unit using your saved points and deposit them with RCI. They won't have much trading power but you will have two more years to use them.

2008 points are Saved Points, good for Red time and below. March 31 expiration date? Try to rent Spring Break time, or dump a deposit or two into RCI.

Not sure about the reference to RCI by 12/31/08? No deadline on making deposits. Just, as Charles said, less trading power. Depending on what you want back out, maybe not an issue for you.

            That's not unusual.

Welcome. You will get a lot of great information from reading the BG forums here on this site. The Charelston location is a very nice spot if even only for the weekend.

What is keeping you from travelling? How many points do you have?

For depositing with RCI you need to call BG to book a week for deposit. Your 2007 points probably are expiring 03/31/2009. you should call right away to get a week any where for 03/28/2009 week to deposit with RCI. This will give you until 03/2011 to use the banked week. You will pay an exchange fee when using RCI but will give you much more time to use the points.

When you call BG let them know you are depositing the week with RCI and let them know it is your first deposit. The information you should get from them is; resort name, RCI resort ID#, unit size, unit number, start date, and confirmation number.

Try for anyting in Florida to deposit, Probably will not be available as this is a major spring break week. than try for any units in Myrtle Beach if this is not avail go for Boyne Falls in Michigan, If still having no luck try Gatlinburg, than Wisconsin Dells. If none of these are available ask them what is available for deposit. Probably Georgia Mountains, Branson or Shenandoah Crossing.

Your 2008 Credits shoud expire 03/31/2010 and are not good for travel in High red or in some resorts Leaf Season. Try to book a few more weekends. The real value is of course using home properties and not paying exchange fees.

With The remaining points from 2009 book for Christmas or New Years 2009 if even for a few days and take a great vacation.

This will get you caught up and for the future if you can only get away for a few weekends remeber you booking window and book as far in advance as possible.
