  • Increasing Maintenance between annual dues?

I logged on today and saw a $127 new fee for my dues, which I paid in full back in Nov. the website has the explanation below.

Tell me I'm not the only.

    "Dear Bluegreen Vacation Club Owner,

While your managing entity is working diligently to mitigate controllable costs and keep your Maintenance Fees low, external factors beyond Bluegreen’s control continue to increase the cost of doing business. In addition to higher rates for insurance, labor and utilities, many vendors have been forced to raise prices in order to compensate for fuel and transportation costs that have risen sharply in the past year. Rest assured that your managing entity continues to seek the best prices available for goods and services without sacrificing the quality you’ve come to expect from Bluegreen Resorts.

We thank you for being a valued owner and look forward to seeing you at a Bluegreen Vacation Club resort soon.

    Sincerely,

    Bluegreen Resorts"

You probably paid your maintenance fees and taxes last November which is when they are typically due.

If you were billed this month for annual dues, it means you have an anniversary date of Feb 1 and the fee is $129. The annual dues pays for all cross resort reservations.

    1) The Bluegreen Reservation system and the people who run it.

    2) Your RCI account

I believe that the Bluegreen annual Club dues were $122.48 for about 10 years before it went up last August to $129. That is a very modest increase of that period.

Just look at the DRI board to see what they are charging for the same fees.

That is my understanding of why we got hit again too. I believe it is the RCI deal. Kinda mad me angry, but I found a $115 hit last year in Feb or March.

And aren't you glad that DRI, with their increase from $155 up to $235 in the first year, didn't manage to buy out Bluegreen.
