Value of a blended CMV UDI

Their like some potato chips. Once you have had one you just can not stop with just only one CMV UDI ownership .

So, as my wife is signing the purchase contract for the pure Cottage CMV UDI today, she says, "Oh, and Janice says if you see another one of these, tell her so she can buy it."

At which point I choked. The wife and her good friend (Janice) were down in NYC for the weekend. I came within a hair of calling them to ask if I should bid on the blended UDI for our friends (or sell them one of our pure and we take the blended), but didn't.

Wow, the darned thing DOES work!

... I don't have the free capital to be buying two UDIs at once (or rather, not and keep the wife from boiling me alive). I decided instead to stick with just the 2 pure UDIs and my RCI points week, sell my SA weeks, and be on the lookout for a cheap Bluegreen points ownership (I am under the sway of Boardgirl's mind control device).--

Yes, one can (as you and I both do) turn those weeks into RCI points, and then into weeks elsewhere, but that is no advantage over what could be done with the BG points. That means the floor value is somewhat below $9,600.

Of course, for those who have the ability to use the UDI weeks either for visits or for PFD, the value is higher.

Steve, I disagree as IMHO the "Pure" CMV UDI has huge Cost advantages over BG Points when used for RCI's PFD program.


1. The cost per RCI Point in relationship to totals of buying and closing costs per RCI point is far less for 1 UDI compared the number of BG points needed to generate the same amount (lets say 250,000) of yearly RCI Points.

2. Then comparing total of maintenance and housekeeping fees needed by one CMV UDI generate 250,000 yealy RCI Points is far less than the total amount of maintenance fees to to paid for all of the BG points needed to produce 250,000 yearly RCI Points.

3. Selection and number of choices available from RCI and II total over 4,000 plus resorts vs only 40 Bluegreen resorts.

4 IMHO if the "realitive" value of a "pure" CMV UDI is under $9,600 as you say, then in comparison then for the cost-values yeilds above means that the value of BG Points for what they yield for RCI's PED is worth about 10 to 15 cents per Bluegreen Point in comparison.
