However, that seems meaningless since according to this, Silver, Gold & Platinum owners can book 13, 14 or 15 months in advance respectively. I hope I'm misunderstanding that...
Premier owners can be wait listed at those times, but the reservation is not actually made until 11 months out (and one day probably). Therefore the deeded owner actually DOES get to make an actual reservation at 12 months out.

But only if you actually want that very unit, that very week, that very resort that you are deeded...that is the ONLY reason it might matter where you are deeded. Well, there a few other minor reasons, such as apparently, you can reserve bonus time at your home resort even if you bought non-qualified points on the resale market. I don't know if that is unlimited though.

Thanks - that makes sense. One follow up:

Say I like my deeded unit & time, but don't want to blow all my points on one week. Would I be able to book a couple days at my deeded unit during my deeded week 12 months out & use the rest of my points elsewhere?

No. However, depending on the number of points you own, you may own more than one interval...............I own about eight different intervals. (Your deeded week is an interval.) So you might have a really great week that you want to book 12 months out but you may also have other points hooked with other weeks/units/resorts that you could use the points for elsewhere.

If you buy qualified points, you will have access to Bonus Time at the resorts, so using all your points on one week isn't such a big deal if you don't mind using cash for other trips.

In fact, Bonus Time is a great point saver for weekend stays.
