  • We just returned from Big Cedar! We also saw the luxury patio homes... OH WOW!

Hi! I just wanted to share we have recently returned from a very nice stay at Big Cedar! We had a 2 bedroom lodge unit, and my inlaws had a studio next door. It was really nice! There is a $5 per night resort fee that was totally worth it. We used the free shuttle around the property every day! We also borrowed free movies from the club house. The only thing they need is a good grocery store on property. If you are planning to get groceries, stop before you go in or you will be driving a good 8-10 miles back towards branson for food!

We also took a peek at the luxury patio homes at Long Creek. Oh WOW! They are WONDERFUL! The would be a great place to have a large family grouping. We started referring to them as "the party houses" because that is completely what they would be good for! I SO want to get my extended family down there for a long weekend! I figured out they cost about $300 per night if you rent points from BG and go Sunday - Thursday nights during white season. (That's 2000 points per night for those of you who don't want to do the math ) They are $400 per night if you get bonus time as a charter member. (There's another reason for us to get up to bronze - they'd only be $300 per night bonus time.) Split that three or four ways amongst family members, and it makes for a really nice vacation! I also thought we could use Big Cedar lodge rooms for extra people if we go over the 13 people limit. The JUST added a shuttle from Long Creek to Big Cedar, so it would be really easy to have extra overnighters at the lodge. They don't have a pool, but the free shuttle will take you to the Big Cedar property where you have access to all the Big Cedar amenities. I am SO planning a trip there sometime in the next couple of years. VERY COOL! If you are at Big Cedar, you should definitely take a trip over to the houses for a look.

It would be nice if when you post stuff about a resort on a branded, that you also post a link to it on the area board, so that those that look that method will see it too.

      Thanks.

Regarding Long Creek . . . we are in the same economic slowdown here as y'all elsewhere. That project got started before the crash and has managed to continue to limp along, one of the few that have.

But I can assure you that it is very, very unlikely that there is any money coming in, through sales, as sales are virtually non-existent everywhere in the area.

It wasn't planned, but I have been over that way twice today, and went to the Long Creek project both times.

Nothing has been done since I was last there, probably six months ago. So, it is on hold like everything else around here.

Back then, Missouri Partners Inc. (MPI) was the contractor, but now their sign is gone. Just about everything they have or had going is problematic.

Big Cedar-Long Creek Luxury Homes are now available to non-owners as a mini-vac

I just found out today that I can upgrade my little mini-vac (promotional ) package I purchased at Bass Pro shop last year - to the 3500 sq ft patio home at Big Cedar Long Creek Ranch for only about $500 extra for 5 nights....and of course, my husband and I will be taking a 90 min timeshare tour at Big Cedar Wilderness Club while we are there. My boss' daughter works for Bluegreen and she sold me the original "get-a-way" package nearly a year ago and I already booked a few nights in Charleston for next month, but I may just have to take her up on that offer at Big Cedar instead..... I can't believe they are renting that beautiful 5 bedroom home out to non-owners for $100 a night!! If anyone wants more info let me know, and I can give you her number so she can explain it better.... Has anyone else stayed in the patio homes yet? How far is it to Big Cedar from the subdivision? Is it close enough to walk to ? just curious if it loses any of its ambiance by not being directly at the resort. I live in FL and not fond of "cold" weather so any suggestions on what month I should book my trip because my package expires in November but I wanna try and get there when the weather is still warm. Never been to Missouri honestly so I have no clue. Thanks everyone!

As I have posted before, the actual Wilderness Club is available to the public on craiglistspringfield.

Or has been . . . Perhaps because cl ads have to be renewed after 30 days, they have not, but when it was posted it had dates for the entire year, and a phone to call, someone here saying it was bluegreen doing it, I believe.

Yeah, here's that thread and link, and the posting has expired and not renewed.

Perhaps some owners had an issue with it.

Looks like someone broke some kneecaps on the site doing the renting, too.

Looks like it's up to me.

Depends on what you want to do. If you are into lake activities . . . swimming, boating, skiing, pwc . . . the water temp hits its peak 90 degrees during April . . . if the temps leading up to that are the typical 95-100. Then the water stays warm through September, again if the air temp supports that.

Our favorite months on the Margaritaville Dock are July, August, September.

If you just want warm, comfortable air temps, May, June, September, and October would be best.

An ongoing Branson joke on these timeshare forums is when can you see the turning leaves, Christmas lights, and lightning bugs at the same time.

Speaking of which, I went out one night this week at dark-thirty and there were lightning bugs everywhere.

I have seen the Luxury homes in Long creek and I am planning to get some of the ideas on how to decorate my own home. It doesn't need to be expensive, but I want to make sure to make my future home comfortable and cozy.. Scottsdale Custom Homes

                        We did something similar.

There are lodge-style homes in nightly rental programs here at several locations. Some of them, ones on Indian Point, are available through Grand Crown. They have a 4-master-suite/4-jetted-tub model.

We had the builder redesign it to be a private residence on the lake. We had the plans drawn up before the Great Economic Speedbump hit.

Heres what they are like (our floor plan is different):
