  • Which Myrtle beach resort?

We are going in late july and are wondering which resort is the best for a family of 4 , kids are 11 and 6.

Do you have a reservation already? If not, thing may be booked up. I prefer Shore Crest 1 in North Myrtle Beach, but I would guess that is booked up full all summer.

thats the only one thats full sorry I didn't say that before. Out of the rest which is the best, we've never been to MB so its all new to us.

I would not pick Harbour Lights because it is not on the beach. Have not been to the other 2.

Depends on how much you value being "on the beach". If thats important, then Harbor Lights is out. I've never stayed at the other 2, but I know they are pretty much on the beach. Harbor Lights is directly across from the new Hard Rock Park, and assuming its out of bankruptcy by then, could offer a good choice. I've been to HK twice, and enjoyed it both times.

Altho I've never been to Harbour Lights I have a friend that's been to both Schooner I & HL and loved HL. The only bad thing it's not close to the "action" . shaggy

Wow!! You need to book something real soon for the month of July.
MB can be a very hard exchange for June, July and August's months.

While I love SeaGlass's ocean view, I wouldn't take two kids there. Unit is too small. That being said, we will return their this summer. My preferences are SC I, SeaGlass, SC II, Carolina Grande, and Harbor Lights. But I would prefer Harbor Lights over Mountain Loft due to the Lazy River at Harbor Lights and it is only a few miles to the ocean.

We stayed at HL for the weekend when we went for our presentation. The pool was closed for remodeling & we had to go to the Carolina Grande for the pool (It was March, so the beach was out of the question).

Anway, I think we kind of liked being off the beach - far less traffic and noise - besides, I'd rather fish in the Intra-coastal waterway which was right behind...

The beach was only 3 miles away so the drive isn't that terrible if you want to go to the beach.

My thing is that the beach IS the destination, regardless of weather. I have no other reason to go to MB.

Being landlocked, I don't want to drive that far to have to drive to the beach. Personal thing for me. Sand in the toes, gaze at the power of the ocean, etc.

We live about 20 minutes from Atlantic City, so heading to the beach isn't that big a deal for us I guess

Yep, all a matter of perspective! Would love a short drive to breathe sea air.

For us too, the beach IS THE destination. But I am willing to drive that far (and far it is). Can't wait!!

Last trip to MB was the first 'just the girls' trip and we loved Shorecrest.

Long drives don't bother me (in fact I dig a good road trip!), but dh not fond of them. he thinks the 2.5 hour drive to go see my mother is "long."

                            Happy travels!

So many lines I could use, but I won't.

I know the trip to visit someone is often much longer than the trip home.

I don't think I will ever take anything in Myrtle other than Shorecrest 1. I just won't accept it as dirty as I did this last time.
