I have alot of 2nd year points about to expire May 1. Is it too late for me to try to exchange them? I don't have the exact amout in front of me, but think it's close to 8-9,000.
Given the short timeframe, you could attempt to book weeks for deposit, so long as you understand that your trading power will not be good. If you like to travel offseason, this will not be a problem.
To do first, call BG and see what's available between now and then. I, personally, would try to get several weeks out of it, spend them on an offseason family gathering somewhere in a year or so.
Let the reservationist know what you are trying to accomplish, "book for deposit."
how does depositing work? I'm new and my points will expire Oct 1 2010 but I'm on an every other year point system so I can never save my points to add up which is what they told me I could do when I bought we only have 8000 points by-yearly which we share with my brother so really we each only get 4000 by-yearly
In order to deposit a week with RCI you first have to reserve a week with BG - 7 nights. Tell BG you are going to exchange the week and you'll get some info from BG about the exchange. Then you have to call RCI and deposit the week into your RCI account. Once it actually gets deposited, you'll have 2 more years to exchange that week with RCI. You can use the RCI website to search for exchanges all over the world. You will only see what is available based on the value of your week that you deposited.
