  • How long before I can register @ BG online?

I purchased the Sampler package on Saturday March 21st. It's been 5 business days since then, but I still can't register with my home phone & email address @ bluegreenonline.com

The website gives a number to call if you are still unable to register after 5 business days, but the person that answered the phone couldn't find me either.

I would be shocked if it only took 5 days. I would think more like 5 weeks.

There isn't a lot online that you can't get in the binder they give you - did you get one of those?

      5 weeks!!

I got a binder, but if it's five weeks before I get my points, I imagine it would be really tough to get anything for September...

Depends. School is back in session, Sept is off-season in many locations at that time. May and Oct are our favorite travel months because the crowds are gone making more availability.

Where are you wanting to go?

It took about a month for our Sampler to go through (we got ours in September, Labor Day weekend essentially). They told us it'd take six weeks but we kept checking.

However, our Sampler membership does not get us into the owner's part of the BG site. That may have changed, since they're redesigned the website since.

Ack, don't say that! We have great hopes of getting time in September for my parents once our purchase of resold points goes through (just started the process). Then again, our hopes are mostly based on the fact that we want Monday through Thursday nights and we'll go for any kind of unit they have open (well, maybe not a hotel room), because the points are going to expire before we can use them so we're not exactly oriented toward frugality on that front.

But, yeah, weekends in September may be tough, depending on where you're going. OTOH, the Sampler does limit you to offseason (generally speaking) and to the Bluegreen-owned resorts, which both improve your odds of getting a room. And if you can't get anything in September, you could try posting here or to the Bluegreen Yahoo group for suggestions on what resorts might be worth going to other times of the year.

          Good luck!

That makes sense then - I shouldn't expect to be able to login to the site on the sampler.

The sales folks said my points would be available on 4/1 (as does the agreement I signed), I'll just call then.

Not booking any weekends mostly Sunday night - Thursday night. We had wanted to get into CMV in September. October wouldn't be the end of the world, just a longer wait & we wanted to get our vacations as evenly spaced throughout the 9 months available to us as possible.

The sales rep I purchased the sampler from called me back (had left a message this morning). He confirmed that logins to bluegreenonline.com are for full owners - not samplers.

He also stated that while my anniversary date is 4/1, it takes about 30 days for the points to show up, but that if i needed to book a date before that, they can use the "house account" until the points are available. Does that sound right?

yes, they can use a house account as long as you find a person willling to do it for you. If you get rejected by reservations, ask to be transferred to owner services and tell them the name of your sales rep and what they told you.

News to me. All my salesman said (supported by advice here, memory serves) was to start calling three or four weeks after I signed the paperwork, in hopes that I'd gotten in the system earlier than predicted.

Give it a shot and see what happens, I guess. All they can do is say "no."

Interesting. Doesn't make any difference, since I pretty much got everything I wanted when I wanted it (a chalet instead of a townhome, I think was the only compromise), but knowing that might have saved some nailbiting.

Thanks Boca & Hobbitess - I'll try calling in a few days then & try every week or so, but won't get my hopes up until the end of April/beginning of May
