I new here and to timeshare buying. I need some info to help me make a more informed decision. Ive been reading as much as i can but now i questions. I have to opportunity to buy 8k points at Blue Green and only pay for the transfer at $475, 2009 maint fees have already been paid and private seller tells me there are no other fees. is this gonna be a good purchase, the home base isnt really where i vaca alot, but i though it might be a good opp to get some points. any thoughts about this deal.

That isn't a bad starting point, and a pretty good price. With your 8K points, you will be able to get a one bedroom for one week a year at several resorts. It may be off season for some resorts or year around at other resorts. It gives you a chance to get away, see some places in Florida or Wisconsin or some other areas and see how Bluegreen works for you.
After you have tried a few resorts, you may want to add some points. At some point, couple years down the road, you may want to be in the 12-16K level. That will give you access to pretty much any resort and nearly any time of the year. Just remember to buy resale to keep the cost down. 8000 points is a good starting amount. I agree with Vintner. If you need help transferring the ownership, let me know.
Resort Title allows me to facilitate closings now and we can usually cut about 2 months off the transfer time. And, it's the same price.Comment
