  • CMV UDI Timbers golf question

I won a CMV Timbers UDI. I have a question about the free greens fees. Do the greens fees go with use of the unit, or with ownership of the contract?

In other words, in which of the following cases will the named person get free golf:

    1) A renter/guest, but not an owner, stays in an Oak Timbers UDI cottage.

    2) The owner stays in an Oak Timbers UDI cottage.

    3) The owner stays in a non-Timbers unit at the resort (or just wanders in off the street toting a golf bag).

Also, how often may the free greens fees be used? I called CMV, but I never seem to get an answer at the Pro shop.

    Regards,

    sc

Guess that was the prize after the meat raffle was done.

I have been to CMV several times, and although I don't golf, I have never heard anyone say anything about free golf. I changed from UDI to points in 2003, and had only used the UDI owner time once, so I don't know if there may be golf attached to the UDI ownership.

Bruce is probably off enjoying one of his resorts but will be along sooner or later. He can answer any questions you have (and some you don't have) about the free golf and probably free skiing of your CMV UDI.

UDI timbers owners do get free golf, it is the owner of the unit and his family. It has nothing to do with staying in your unit. My neighbors own UDI Timbers and play every day with that. Other people own Timbers, rent them out, and stay in campground or RV sites and play free golf. You must pay for your cart. You need to make sure you get a card or get your name on a list that they have in the pro shop. It is pretty nonsensical that they couldn't answer you in the pro shop, they have been dealing with it for 20 years and they know all about it.

Er, uh, yeah, that's right, I *won* it. In a talent contest. Dancing with my wife, Morgan Fairchild. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket!

            Ok, I own it

Along with my amazing typographical skills, I used ambiguous language. I meant that I can't get anyone at the Pro shop to answer the phone, not to answer the question.

Thanks for the answer, in spite of all the goofs in my question!

The free golf is only for Oak Timbers UDIs, not the vanilla Cottage UDIs (I have 1 Timbers and 2 cottage UDIs).

So I guess Bruce can go golfing free 6 or 7 times a day, with all his Timbers UDIs.

The typo made for an interesting story. I can see how the typo happened, but wow, to have won it was pretty neat. To own it is...just like the rest of us.

I only stayed once as a UDI owner until the talked me into trading for the points.

Friday fish fry at Mulligans is pretty good. Too much money for my budget, but pretty good.

We are heading to CMV tomorrow and are planning on going to the fish fry at Mulligan's. I didn't ask how much it cost. How pricey is it?

Mulligan's also has a Easter brunch. Has anyone tried it?

                    thanks!

I asked my wife how much the fish fry was, and we had different answers. To me, $7.95-$9.95 would be fine, but I remember this more like $12.95 -$15.95. It was good, but I like the fast food budget. How much fish can you eat?

We have done Thanksgiving at Mulligans. The buffet was nice, good selection with lots of everything including dessert. I do a MUCH better salmon, and one item on the menu was dry,-but I can't remember which one. But, all in all, it was good. I like to eat, and evaluate foods, spices, flavors, etc, so I may be over picky. I would do it. You should enjoy it and you don't have to clean up. Remember to bring your discount card with your signature from when you check in. It is good for a discount on your food. I hope they still do that, they did in Oct when we were there.

Did you win those two vanilla cottage UDIs, too? Tee hee! I really never even thought that you meant OWN.....I really thought maybe you bought the timbers at an auction where your winning bid, WON you the auction..........etc.

I think there are vanilla timbers and OAK timbers....and the oaks have the skiing and golf with them. Not only do you get free golf, you get free skiing, which works just the same way as the free golf does; just for owners and the owners don't have to be staying there.

Thanks for the info on Mulligan's. We'll give it a try tonight and see how we like the fish. I hope they have other choices for the kids as well.

I think there are 3 food places there, the one in the basement is usually closed when we are there in the off season, so not sure about that one.

Mulligans does have a good menu, it is a mid to upper mid class/style restaurant (with old worn benches) where you can get burgers to nice steaks to prime rib. I am sure there will be no problem getting food the whole family will like.

The bar/restaurant off of Mulligans is pretty nice place for a sandwich and pop or beer. It has a great view of the hill. It does get smoke filled, so off hours are great for the food without the smoke. If you are a singer, that is the place to go in the late evening. I am not a singer, and can't handle the smoke.

For anyone that remembers the white squirrels, they are all gone. The last one was hit by a car last summer.

                              Let's clarify some things.

Mulligans refers to the bar area with food. It was the restaurant name too until they decided to go fancy and rename the restaurant part the Pinewood Bistro and have a totally separate menu and a bar menu at Mulligans(smokey and noisy). they also cut back the hours dramatically, only open three nights a week. That was in 07 and 08. I went from eating there all the time to having never had food in the Pinewood Bistro. when they made the cuts last fall they fired the food services manager who was in boca Raton for the restaurant in Wisconsin. Now the new manager of the resort has closed the Pinewood Bistro, done some remodeling, and there are arcade games there and it is Mulligan's again for food.. I hear it is very noisy from the arcade games and they are going to need to put up a wall

Fish Fry is about 9.99. I personally don't think it is any good, and my husband won't get it. it changes constantly. When they were claiming it was cod it wasn't cod. for awhile last summer it was good. then it wasn't then it was. There are way better places to get fish fry.

The Oak Timbers UDI is the only ownership to give free golf and skiing, and it is unlimited. You can play all the holes you want each day, but you do pay for the cart and the cart fee is enough extra so that you are not getting a great deal.
