Points for maintenance fee's

At the silver level, BG states that an owner can use points to pay the maintenance fee's.

Does anyone here use that facility? How many points does it take to pay the fee's on 25K of points?

It's not a good value anymore. If you are Silver or Gold, Bluegreen gives you $.01/point. If you are Platinum, they give you $.02/point. So, you would need about 125,000 points to pay 25,000 points of maintenance fees and taxes.

Of course that was a selling point from the developers/club a few years ago, now they will have to come up with a new angle since the value has changed to do that. Though never should have been considered but the sales people are so good a pushing the right buttons to make a sale.

Just 18 months ago, Bluegreen offered $.05/point to pay maintenance fees with points. Now, it's down to between $.01-.02/point.

Before the change that Boca posted about, I did one time use points to pay maintenance fees but it is really NOT worth it anymore. You can't pay all your maintenance fees even if you use all your points now. Before, it didn't take all your points to pay all your maintenance fees. It wasn't the greatest value to get from your points before, but it wasn't too bad, especially the first year you have lots of points and you don't know for sure what you are going to do with them. But even in that instance, now, it is a TERRIBLE deal to use them for.

NOTE: you can only pay maintenance fees with CURRENT year points. You can't use saved points.
