  • The BG RCI account -vs- existing RCI account

When I converted to the points system BG touted that the club dues would include an RCI account. Well, I already had an RCI account and noted that on the paperwork. BG hijacked it and linked it to my BG account. This means I am paying for the RCI account, plus paying the BG club dues which is supposed to give me an RCI account. My existing RCI account is linked to a fixed week timeshare I own (non-BG).

If I call BG and ask for a reduced club dues amount since I am paying for the RCI account will I get it?? Just thought I would get some opinions here.

No, Bluegreen will not rebate your annual dues. You get a free RCI account as a part of your annual dues. If you don't want it, you don't need to take it.

It wasn't Bluegreen who hijacked your RCI account. It was RCI who combined them. Bluegreen has no idea what you do or own with RCI. Only RCI has access to that information.

What I would do is contact RCI to separate your memberships into two accounts. You original one and a Bluegreen account. Then, contact Bluegreen owner services to have them pay for the second account.

Then, transfer all of your ownerships to the Bluegreen account and cancel your original account. Then, Bluegreen will be paying for your RCI account and you don't need to pay for another one.

By the way, I have 5 or 6 RCI accounts because they come for "free" with my various ownerships.

I'll definitely have to consider that, thanks. I'm paid up until Aug 2010 so not going to worry about it right now.
