  • Christmas Mountain Village

Have 4 nights booked in a 2 BR Villa the week after Christmas. Has anyone spent the week after Christmas here?? We have 2 children ages 6 and 8. How busy is this place at this time and how busy is the ski area?? Our kids have never ski'd and I have heard this would be a good small place to introduce them, just concerned this is probably the worst time, but...you have to go when you can go and this works for us. Any advice??

We were there the week after Christmas last year in the cottages. It was busy but not bad. They got new rental ski equipment last year and it's a great place to go to learn to ski. Our kids went skiing for the first time and we did tubing.
We'll be there in the villas the week after Christmas this year.

I am sitting here looking at the indoor pool which is specificaly designed for little ones, all the way to the walk-in area which is graded with no steps. So if they don't take to the bunny slopes they will certainly take to the water.

Awesome. we visited CMV in the early summer of 05. It was our first BG stay. Our kids were 2 and 4 then and still talk about the frog slide. We are looking forward to our return. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

We were there last year after Christmas, and again, this year we have a cabin during the holidays. I have a 9-year old who had a great time. Again the ski hills are for beginner/advanced. Cascade mountain (15-20 minute drive) was wonderful too. We went to Mt. Olympus indoor waterpark and indoor theme park - great discount tickets through Bluegreen. You will have a great time.

Ski Rental is $26 a day. Ski lift tickets for the time you'll be there is $32 a day. Adult 7 day ski lift ticket is $154 and ski rental for the week is $168. Kids(12 and under) is $126 and ski rental for a week is the same as the adult price. If you get a Wisconsin Dells fun card, they do have a "buy one get one free" ski lift ticket on the card. The cost of the card is $10 and there's a lot of other deals on it that makes it worth it. We like going to Firehouse Pizza that's close to the resort and they have a deal on the card for "buy one get one free" pizza as well.

I am wondering about the Fun Card, it technically expires on DEc 31. Do they honor it after that date for skiing as the new cards are not out yet.

I would assume they wouldn't, but it wouldn't hurt to ask them. We'll be there that week and probably use it before it expires.

We were there on Labor Day and we missed your husband's nature walk. Maybe next time.

They are available at some of the locations on the FunCard. As this is late in the season, I am not sure if the machnes are stocked.
When are you coming up here?

I could stop by and pick some up from the owner of the Fun cards and mail them to you. I also will have mine, with a lot punched, but not the skiing.

Labor Day was the last day he did the hikes and nature slide show for the season. He had very big crowds. I tried to post a piture from his nature hike, but wasn't successful.
